Who bought up Japanese stocks?
The Nikkei Stock Average has risen from the bottom on March 9 (24,717.53) to March 29 at 28,252.42, a gain of 14.3%.
Who could have been buying, I wonder? Looking at the by-sector purchase and sale trends,
the graph is weekly, ending in the week of March 21–25 (Fri).
The largest and almost sole buyer since March 10 (Thu) has been the securities company on its own account.
Both foreign investors and individuals are selling. Other investors show no significant movement.
(Note) If there are buying investors, there are always selling investors who sold to them, so the purchase amount equals the sale amount.
A securities agency on its own account does not mean they bought on behalf of clients on commission; it means the securities company bought on its own account. However, a securities company would not take such risk with its own funds, so there must be someone behind it.
