The short selling ratio is 45.9%.
There were also selling to close as it touched the 200-day moving average.
The Bank of Japan will conduct for the first time a continuous "limit-order operation" to buy an unlimited amount of new 10-year government bonds at a yield of 0.25% for three days from yesterday to the 31st.
Since money will be supplied to the market, the Nikkei Average is likely to rise.
