"Even with mutual funds, I was doing reasonably well, but I thought I could make a bit more if I did it myself. Moreover, at the time the consumption tax rose from 5% to 8%, I found an online article claiming that ‘in a year when the consumption tax increases, the yen always weakens,’ and I took it at face value and opened an FX account. Looking back, that was terrifying, but thanks to the Abenomics era I was able to profit. And with those profits I bought higher-interest-rate currencies as well."

Of course, such peaceful days did not last. The major turning point came during the 'China Shock' period.

"Actually, I had convinced myself that the Lehman Shock's low wouldn't be broken, so I increased holdings of high-yield currencies like the South African rand. As a result, the bottom fell out easily (laughs). Moreover, since I hadn't set a stop loss, I got forced out. I think I was completely numb because I hadn't experienced a crash before."

He melted half of his funds at that time. However, the lesson from that moment became the fuel for his later trading.

"Of course I was shocked, but I had thought such a day would come sometime, so I spent that day as usual. However, from that experience I carved important lessons: don't hold onto unfounded assumptions, and manage your funds carefully."

・Quick skill-up through exchanging information with trading peers

Furthermore, from this period Mr. Oval Prime K.T. began to pursue chart analysis more deeply.

"At first I was guessing, reading books and buying materials. But about half a year later, there was a seminar at a securities firm. A person from that firm introduced me to a trader from Shizuoka; we were the same age and had roughly the same FX knowledge. There, we exchanged information about what we knew and didn't know, and as a result I think my technical analysis skills improved dramatically."

Mr. Oval Prime K.T. says that meeting people spurred his growth as a trader. He continued to absorb knowledge quite aggressively, going to mentors and the schools their mentors attended.

"The oscillator usage and multi-timeframe analysis methods I learned then remain an important part of my method today. Thanks to that, profits became stable, and various techniques piled up there, expanding my vision more and more."

・Looking at charts with an artist's sense

Thus, he honed chart analysis and even developed his own indicators. However, the indicators he seeks are packed with an artist's particularity at every turn.

「見てて飽きる画面って、モチベーションが落ちる原因になると思うんです。もちろんインジケーターは、その精度も重要ですが、僕のこだわりとして、見てて疲れない、そして楽しい画面を目指して作っています。そして、今リリースしている『Diva Perfect Order』もそうなんですけど、チャートの動きをイメージできるようなビジュアルも大切だと思っているんです。イメージができないと判断するのが遅れたり、決断できなかったりしますから」

年明けには新たなインジケータのリリースを考えているとのこと。しかもアイデアのきっかけはなんとジョン・ボリンジャー氏の講演。その講演で話していた内容を噛み砕いたサインツールとなる予定だという。インジケーターの可能性を大きく広げたといっていいOval Prime K.T氏。彼の新曲（？）のリリースに期待せずにはいられない。
