Is the real-world operation ranking full of grid/random averaging EAs!?
Come to think of it, the GoGoJungle blog has ended, hasn't it?
I had completely forgotten about that.
While I was wondering where to post updates instead,
「Investment Navigator Plus」 is it?
I’m not sure if I should write the same kind of diary-style entries here as on the blog, but
for now I’d like to periodically report on the status of the EAs I’m listing when I feel like it.
Well, I’m currently listing eight EAs,
in terms of earnings seven are in the plus and one is in the minus,
so it’s fair to say that profits have generally been accumulating smoothly.
And, after a long time, I checked the ranking ofREAL TRADE,
and one of my EAs,K-Cody_GBPJPY_M15was
ranked 26th overall in Real Operation Ranking (All Time). It ranked 26th.
This EA was listed about two years ago,
and I’m actually operating it myself as well, and it still shows a steady uptrend.
I’m somewhat confident in it,
but there are 25 other EAs that have performed better than this EA.
So, for study purposes, I looked at each EA that ranks higher than mine,
one by one, but…
I see… most of them are grid (n) averaging EAs.
Their profit graphs are a clean, almost ruler-straight uptrend,
so I wondered if perhaps…
Publishing a Real Operation Ranking is
proof that the developers are actually operating the strategies,
and provides readers with information to judge, which is good, but
showing grid EAs and straightforward EAs in the same ranking seems inconsistent.
Grid EAs have small lot sizes per trade,
and as long as they don’t incur losses they can keep winning indefinitely,
so rankings based on total PIPS tend to be top-ranked by necessity.
However, as soon as you scale up the lots too much and accumulate drawdown,
a single big loss can be devastating,
and the ranking can drop dramatically at once.
In other words, the EAs currently ranking high that use grid strategies
may just be “unlucky to not have lost yet.”
Be that as it may,
I’d like readers to judge carefully considering these points.
By the way, when I looked at several EAs ranked higher than mine at position 26,
I found that only two of them did not use grid (n) strategies.
Therefore, excluding grid EAs, my EA
K-Cody_GBPJPY_M15
is effectively ranked third.
The product page for “K-Cody_GBPJPY_M15” is here.
Among the many EAs registered on GoGoJungle,
this is one of the few that has continued a positive earnings trend over years without grid strategies,
so it might be worth proud of.
