(hereinafter “our company”) is pleased to announce that, through a joint research iii with Professor Hiroyuki Tsutsui of the Department of Cardiology, Kyushu University (hereinafter “Kyushu University”), aimed at the treatment of chronic heart failure, the efforts to establish a manufacturing and supply system for a regenerative medicine product (hereinafter “this product”) have been completed. Kyushu University plans to conduct a physician-led Phase IIb trial (hereinafter “PIIb trial”) to evaluate the efficacy and safety of this product for chronic heart failure in order to bring this product to practical use, and our company has concluded an agreement with Kyushu University regarding the physician-led clinical trial (hereinafter “this agreement”) in preparation for conducting the PIIb trial. Under this agreement, our company will manufacture and supply the product to be used in the PIIb trial, and with the completion of the manufacturing and supply system for this product at our Shinagawa Cell Culture Processing Facility, the manufacture of the product for the PIIb trial is now ready.
