The 2021 domestic new car sales by model ranking was led for the first time by Toyota Motor Corporation's compact car "Yaris," which increased 40.3% year-on-year to 212,927 units. Honda’s kei car "N-BOX," which had been first for four consecutive years through 2020, ranked second with 188,940 units.
