U.S. Employment Statistics
The employment statistics released on Friday of the weekend fell short of expectations, with 210,000 jobs added versus the predicted 550,000.
However, it isn’t simply a scene of total disappointment.
First, the unemployment rate improved to 4.2%.
And the labor force participation rate also improved from 61.6% to 61.8%.
In aspects that cannot be measured by headcount alone, overall improvements are evident, and the indicators as a whole are reasonably solid.
Therefore, immediately after the announcement, stocks advanced while bonds sold off.
