3 business days continues to fall
Nikkei Stock Average fell for the third consecutive trading day.
In the morning, following the daily record highs in U.S. equities on the 8th, the index rose to 29,750 yen, up 243 yen from the previous close.
After the first round of trading, the as-expected-turned gains in index futures during after-hours trading weighed on the market, leading to profit-taking and a turn to a decline.
By the pre-closure, it remained in positive territory, but softened again after the afternoon session began.
It briefly fell to 29,240 yen (down 266 yen).
Although it later stabilized, the closing session saw the downside extend.
The Mothers Index also continued to fall.
The broad Tokyo market moved lower in tandem with the general downtrend.
