“Reason for the action” column currently published on TOYO KEIZAI ONLINE
Good morning, this is Matsushita.
Yesterday's NY Dow fell slightly,
it appears to be hovering around a high level.
The Shanghai Composite Index fell back.
USD/JPY continued to fall, in the low 113s.
NY Gold was little higher.
Investment actions require a reason.
Because investment is an act that can cause money to
decrease.
An act that could cause money to decrease without a reason
is not possible to undertake.
The actions you take from now on are
you think will lead to profit,
there is a reason for that,
you are willing to expose yourself to the risk
that money may decrease.
When written like this,
you may think,
“Hmm, that’s right,”
yet, a surprisingly large number of people
buy and sell without a clear reason.
“Without a reason” may come off as a bit rude.
When all investors buy or sell,
they think, “I want to make money, it might go up,”
and trade accordingly.
But this is not a reason; it is a wish.
Without a wish, profits do not rise.
If you do not have a clear reason,
investment actions are inherently scary and not something you would do.
Today I will be unusually brief,
and end here.
In your investment actions, is there always a reason that profits will rise?
Please consider it.
If there isn’t, it’s a little scary, isn’t it.
