[2021.8.17] Market Review and Future Considerations
Stock Price
Yesterday's Nikkei average fell sharply by 453.96 points.
The short-selling ratio is 48.0%, with nearly half of trading consisting of short sales.
As I have written before, a hedge fund strategy involves buying U.S. stocks and selling equivalent Japanese stocks to hedge, creating a structure where Japanese stocks tend not to rise.
It does not seem to be a situation where one can actively buy.
However, with short selling at 48.0%, there will eventually be a repurchase rally.
When that timing comes, I would like to aim to buy.
