Good morning, this is Matsushita.
Every Saturday,
I deliver columns on topics related to investing.
Today's theme is,
"There are no rules, perhaps."
In January of this year, when we conducted a survey,
among investors who were losing money, the reason for the losses
was that there were no rules,
which appeared high on the list.
I see—without rules, you cannot make profits, but
the fundamental reason other investors were saying this
was actually found elsewhere.
I explained that in the column.
For those who have previously lost money in investing,
and who think the reason is in their trading rules,
please read it.

Episode 200: "There are no rules"
When you ask investors who are losing money about the reason for their losses,
it always includes issues related to trading rules such as,
"there are no rules, or I cannot trade according to the rules."
However, upon listening closely,
it becomes clear that this is not essentially a problem of "no rules."
Investors think somewhere there exists a set of rules that will yield profits.
But this is incorrect. In order for investors to earn profits,
there must be a price movement target they aim for,
and they must search for and create trading rules to capture it.
In other words, many investors who say they have "no rules"
do not have a target or intended price movement in mind.
If you continue to say "no rules" without realizing this,
you will never obtain a rules-based approach.
A profitable trading rule is created after you decide on your target or
the price movement you aim for.
Or it is sought after. The starting point is your decision.
Understand this, and to acquire a profitable trading rule,
decide on the price movement you will target. Then,
you will be able to obtain rules.
