Is FX like sports?
Today starts with a quite impactful photo. Hello, I’m Momoko, a housewife trader.Suddenly, I think of FX as being like sports.Of course there are people who are naturally talented, butto become a top athlete, talent alone isn’t enough; research, general knowledge, practice, special training, failures, victories, setbacks—continuing research and analysis require perseverance and mental strength, and the ability to impose limits on oneself is also important.Even practice requires building muscle, and FX is very similar to sports in that regard. If you slack off, you’ll see the faults quickly. HahaIf you’re doing well, trading can be exhausting after it ends. Haha. Just looking at charts and suppressing emotions takes a lot of brain power. I think about how athletes who perform at the Olympics can maintain such mental control.

Range market was not a break
I have actually treated range markets as a break until now.Hey, you’re saying you wouldn’t slack off at the start, yet you’re talking about taking a break now? Well, when ranges form, you can’t get much profit and prices hover at support... “It’s better to wait until one side moves,” I used to think.Recently I began retraining, and with a fresh mindset, facing the market from zero, things look different than before.

There is no time to rest!
The above chart is a recent part of the USD/JPY.The parts circled in pink show the so-called “consolidation.” The lower shadow rises, but the head is immediately held by the resistance line, and when it seems to break out, it returns to the original position... Energy is accumulating, butwhat direction will it break out in next?! Traders around the world will be watching with their eyes..Recently I have been training to identify several currencies' consolidation periods and think about “which way will it move next?”
So what happens…
Previously I entered after a break, so entering before the break makes the profit margin larger and avoids unnecessary stop-loss since you’re not participating in the break after it, so trading has become smoother. Of course, that’s only natural.

Returning to zero is important
This is basic for many other professionals, but if you reset your mind to zero and restart trading training from that point,“Watching a movie for the second or third time reveals a different perspective and feeling than the first time.”If you’ve been feeling off lately, give it a try. A retraining to put your mind to zero.

To predict future moves during a range
● Are the lows rising
● Is the lower wick a bearish or bullish candle
● What is the resistance line holding back the head
● Which direction is that resistance line leaning
● Where is the long-term EMA located
● In the 4-hour and daily timeframes, is it rising or falling
● Was there an upward or downward trend before the range
● Any recent potential risks (indicators, etc.)
These are fundamental points. Today I ended by noting a few tips for predicting movement during a range. A relaxed-paced column, please stay tuned for the next one as well.
