【Harvests Signal】Signal Overview for the Week of 2020/12/12

EURUSD

When looking only at the long signals that appeared above the H4 EMA, only one was effective midweek. Although there are some profitable-looking contrarian signals as well, they didn’t trend because they went against the market, so they didn’t extend.

USDJPY

There were many contrarian signals that went against the H4 EMA, making it hard to trade. Still, some contrarian signals extended by more than 10 pips, so for USD/JPY it was not bad… Volatility is everything.

GBPUSD

Most contrarian signals went against the H4 EMA, but every signal stretched comfortably beyond 50 pips. This week was all about GBP/USD.

EURJPY

There was little volatility, so meaningful moves only occurred in the latter half of the week. In the first half there were no signals at all.

GBPJPY

Thanks to GBP/USD volatility, GBP/JPY also had wide ranges and a good flow, but the chart patterns were poor, and good signals didn’t appear. Disappointing.

CHFJPY

Looking at the results, there were many signals that were overall positive, but given a range-bound market without a clear bias, it was difficult to ride the signals even when they appeared.

USDCHF

Downtrend. There was only one trend-following signal. Contrarian signals didn’t extend much. Even in a downtrend, the price movement was small, and waiting for a move was frustrating.

EURCHF

The dollar-franc cross was lackluster, so this cross-pair didn’t align with the best timing for signals. All signals were profitable, but most of them were ones you missed rather than ones you rode.

GBPCHF

Completely poor. This week the range was decent, but no signals appeared at the optimal timing.

EURGBP

The best signals were at the start of the week when the bottom signal appeared; others were all mediocre. Overall this week didn’t produce good signals. In December’s quiet market, this is how it goes. It was a disappointing week where the signal performance didn’t fully come through.
