【Harvests Signal】 Signals for the Week of 2020/12/12
★ Trend-following detection strength: 15-minute chart trend-followingEURUSD
Some signals turned negative immediately, but almost all signals ended up positive.
USDJPY
I marked the signals that turned positive with a circle, but when volatility is low the price move is insufficient, so many signals didn’t turn positive even when aligned with the signal, or retraced without advancing 10 pips.
This is a tough signal when volatility is low...
GBPUSD
When volatility is high, it tends to extend nicely. This is in contrast to USD/JPY.
However, signals in the boxed area are terrible, and riding them leads to painful back-and-forth.
Pound-based pairs seem best to follow after the European open, after examining recent trends.
EURJPY
The 4-hour EMA (purple) is near flat, indicating a strong range tendency.
I marked the signals that turned positive with a circle, but this week's signals were terrible.
Cross-yen pairs are heavily influenced by USD/JPY volatility, so it can't be helped.
GBPJPY
You would think it's the same as EURJPY, but due to high volatility, even signals that don't seem to move much actually advance 10–30 pips.
Among them, the last signal was particularly good, stretching due to the drop in GBPUSD.
CHFJPY
If you followed signals aligned with the 4-hour or 1-hour EMA, there would be no losses, but the moves were weak. Only the signal on the 8th extended...
USDCHF
There were many signals, making selection difficult, but with the 4-hour EMA above, if you had chosen only short signals you would have avoided losses.
The long signal on Friday extended because it briefly bottomed in a W-like bottom.
EURCHF
None of the signals were bad, but none captured the exact tops and bottoms cleanly.
It's not about catching tops and bottoms, but the subsequent extension was weak, which was a bit frustrating
Volatility is desirable.
GBPCHF
Not perfect, but most signals extended positively and performed quite well. If I had to say, I wish there were a few more top/bottom signals.
EURGBP
The 4-hour EMA was fairly horizontal, indicating a range-bound pair, but thanks to high volatility, all signals extended nicely with good accuracy.
Euro/GBP tends to have smaller price ranges since both are European currencies, but this week the GBPUSD volatility was high, so EURGBP also showed nice price movements.
