I read all the FX principles (up to the Wave edition)!
As an FX beginner, I studied the highly popular e-book 'FX Principles & Fundamentals' up to the Wave section, and I would like to share the appeal of the course and what was challenging, etc!'FX Principles & Fundamentals'I studied up to the Wave edition and would like to share the allure of the course and what was difficult, etc!
An overview of 'FX Principles & Fundamentals' is summarized inHerein this article, so please check it out!
This course is mainly for beginners,"Trend Edition", for intermediate to advanced traders"Wave Edition", combining both sets of knowledge to introduce trading techniques"Trading Edition", where you can learn actual trading steps separately for the Trend Edition and Wave Edition,"Practice Edition", and also covers more detailed counting methods and trend-following/counter-trend strategies in"Trading Examples".
(It's already quite large, but this includes indicators, templates, and the Practice Edition!)
According to the developer DAI, those who already have a solid foundation can start from the"Wave Edition".
However, I am a beginner, so I decided to start from the"Trend Edition"in order.
■ Trend Edition
▼ Objectives ▼
1. Understand how trends form
2. Be able to identify strong trends
3. Understand the frequency of trends and the magnitude of pullbacks
Basic Trading Course Using Technical Analysis, but it seems to assume a certain level of FX knowledge, so before starting I studied market terminology and the basics of MT4 and indicators.
The first lecture coverswhat a trending market and a ranging market are, types of corrections, and explanations of terms.
They explained each of the three videos carefully as they went through them step by step, so I could understand without difficulty.
(If you already know it, you can skip it!)
After that,How to identify strong trends, how to use the long-term, mid-term, and short-term charts, andtrading stepsthat use the knowledge from the Trend Edition
As I studied, I looked up any unfamiliar terms as I encountered them, studying about 1 hour per day, three days a week, and completed in a little under a month.
They explained while manipulating real charts and clarified things clearly many times with words and text, so I could learn without getting overwhelmed.
Also, they introduce trading steps using bonus indicators!
There are 32 videos in total, most around 30 minutes, though a few run close to an hour.
It's truly packed with content, so if you're pressed for time you could skip parts you already know or try watching at 1.5x to 2x speed; I used 1.5x.
Trading is possible even with just the Trend Edition, so I tried it in a demo and was able to profit! I was very surprised myself just by trading as the course instructs!
"Wave Edition"...
■ Wave Edition
▼ Objectives ▼
1. Understand which trend yields the most profit
2. Be able to forecast price movement and recognize chart patterns
3. Know the entry timing
The Wave Edition, being an applied/advanced module, was quite difficult...
As the developer DAI says, the"Trend Edition" cannot be understood unless the basics are firmly mastered.
I almost gave up early on, so I did a comprehensive review of the basics before starting.
Don't rush; take your time until you understand it thoroughly...
The course explainsElliott Wave-based trading methods, but it omits more detailed theory and finer points, so if you're curious you could study those in books, etc.
After finishing learning the Wave theory, it's difficult to verify on real-time charts immediately, so you need to practice daily and steadily accumulate experience.
This method may not be suitable for those who want big profits right away, but if you can master it,you can gain hundreds of pips in profit!!
There are 38 videos, all around 20–30 minutes, but the material is challenging, so it took about a month and a half to finish them all.
However, there are parts I still don't fully understand, so I continue training with the Practice Edition and reviewing daily!
The developer DAI saysthat practicing Dow Theory helped him improve the most, and practicing Elliott Wave made his profits grow substantially..
Indeed, continuing is difficult, butthose who keep going can achieve great results.
【Summary】
This time I proceeded only with the course, without going through Practice Edition or bonus indicators/templates, and I realize I may have done it wrong...
With that in mind, here is my personal recommended study method!
1. Learn with the Trend Edition course, and if you have time, try it on a demo chart to see it in action.
2. After studying, practice actual trading with the Practice Edition (use bonus indicators/templates if needed).
3. After thoroughly understanding the Trend Edition, proceed to the Wave Edition.
4. Review with the Practice Edition while learning practical aspects in the Trading Edition.
After all, simply learning (input) in a course won't fully equip you with knowledge; by practicing trading (output) you will solidify and be able to use it.
Like in sports, you need to train and gain experience, not just knowledge, to achieve results!
Without a solid understanding of the foundational Dow Theory's"Trend Edition", attempting the applied Elliott Wave"Wave Edition" can be difficult to do well. You need to observe how many times corrections and trends occur, and if you can't distinguish corrections from trends, counting is likely to be impossible.
From the basics, you need to build a solid base (axis), and as the developer DAI says,
Without a core axis, you won't know what to prioritize, so you end up trying methods one after another and can easily fall into a state where nothing works.
Also, I think that knowing and understanding the goals before studying both the Trend Edition and Wave Edition can boost motivation, soTrend Edition goals andWave Edition goals are explained in videos you may want to watch!
'FX Principles & Fundamentals'“I want to provide timeless know-how that will yield results with candlesticks alone and continue to be relevant even as times change, cultivated steadily over months or years.”This heartfelt ambition from developer DAI is packed into the program, and when you actually study it you can feel that longing and realize it’s something to learn over a long period.
If you’re considering starting FX or struggling to win no matter what you do, I would invite you to take a look!
And next, I will talk about trading based on the knowledge and logic learned from FX Principles & Fundamentals!
