Good morning, this is Matsushita.
Yesterday's Dow Jones rose again,
can a new bull market form once more?
The Shanghai Composite Index rebounded.
USD/JPY fell back to the mid-111s.
NY Gold bounced back.
At the Makoto Investment School held the other day,
after reading my book "Philosophy of Investment,"
some investors got to know me and joined.
During the break, one person asked,
"Why did the teacher lose as much as 15 million yen,
and still not give up?"
That’s the question I always get. (laughs)
People who come to know me anew always become curious about this.
I first bought stocks in 2001,
and I continued to lose for a year and a half,
but during that time, I did not stop making efforts.
I read many books and attended seminars
dozens of times.
Among the books I read, there was the "Traders’ Bible,
the "Market Wizards,"
which has interviews with over twenty highly successful traders and fund managers in the United States.
Most of these successful people said the same thing:
to manage capital.
to make rules and trade in accordance with them to earn profits.
After reading this book, and seeing that almost all of the extremely successful people
were saying the same thing, I thought, this must be true.
And I vowed to absolutely find capital management that yields profits and the rules to follow.
From that day, I focused solely on that.
Days since then were spent thinking about that alone.
Thus 16 years have passed.
What they said turned out to be true after all.
I found capital management and the rules to generate profits.
There isn't just one.
They exist in various forms and shapes.
Nevertheless, managing capital.
By creating rules and trading in accordance with them,
I have repeatedly proven that profits can be earned.
This is the reason I did not give up after losing 15 million yen,
and the reason I was able to start making profits.
A single book changed me.
I still read this book today.
I think I have read it more than 50 times.
Even so, just as when I first read it,
I read it with the same sense of excitement and emotion.
The traders featured in this book are, for me, a goal and an inspiration from above the clouds.
Whatever your moment or reason, please set a goal and strive for profits.
To achieve that, what you need is
capital management and rules.
