"A column currently掲載中 on Toyo Keizai ONLINE" The answer that leads you to profit
Good morning, this is Matsushita.
In yesterday's newsletter,
I posed a question under the title, “The answer to this question will lead you to profit.”
That question is,
“Why do you think stock investing (FX and commodities) is profitable?”
Your reasons and basis for engaging in stock investing (FX and commodities) are.
If you don’t think you can make a profit,
in a market where it is said that 80% of people will lose,
there would be no one showing up carefree to this market.
Because you think you can profit,
I believe you are taking on risk and investing your funds
in this very tough world.
What is the reason or motivation that moves you?
Have you found the answer?
Unfortunately, for many, there is no clear answer
(you could also call it a belief),
to this question.
Most investors
“Feel like they might make money somehow.”
“For the future, I have to do some investment (asset management),”
and they start investing with vague reasons,
become emotionally unsettled, and lose sight of things.
As a result, they end up becoming part of the 80% who lose.
I used to be in that 80%,
and I couldn’t stand that you might be in such a situation,
so I write this newsletter every day so that every reader benefits.
Please meet a clear reason or belief that makes you think you can profit from investing.
Profit comes after that.
Now, for your reference, let me share my experience.
I read the book “Rich Dad Poor Dad,”
and like many investors, for the future
I felt I had to create income other than salary,
and I started stock investing.
With no knowledge or experience,
I initially kept losing, and funds kept shrinking.
While reading many books related to investing,
one day I read “Reminiscences of the Market Wizards.”
In this book, there were traders and fund managers in the United States who achieved unbelievable success,
their experiences, beliefs, and philosophies were written.
I immediately became captivated by this book and read it intensely.
The traders featured here said almost the same things.
That money management is important.
Maintaining self-discipline.
Managing risk and trading with appropriate size.
Creating rules for trading.
Learning from mistakes and not repeating the same errors.
Profits come from trading.
So many people telling the same thing made me think there must be truth here.
And I believed it was possible to profit from trading.
This is my original motivation.
“If market wizards have conveyed such strong messages,
then making a profit from trading must be absolutely possible,
I will definitely profit.”
That is why I thought, “It is possible to profit from investing.”
This is the reason I believed I could profit from investing.
“Obtaining the truths of investment that the Market Wizards conveyed.”
With that single purpose, I read books, attended seminars,
conducted back-testing, kept trade records, and reflected on them,
and tried to find the truth within this.
And I found it.
What I think now is
that markets form trends.
If you can capture those trends with clear rules and proper money management,
profits will follow.
That is the reason I think investing profits are possible.
I reached the truth that the Market Wizards were telling,
just a little bit at the entrance.
It has been 16 years since I aspired to be such a trader,
and since I still view those great people as my goal, their example is still far away. (laugh)
But I will continue to learn until I die,
and I hope to grow to the point where I can someday see their guidance.
This is, in my 16 years of investing experience,
the reason why I think stock investing (FX and commodities) is profitable.
Please explore the messages of the great predecessors.
There will be some teaching or learning that will reach you.
From the moment you reach that answer,
your real investment will truly begin.
There is still plenty of time.
Encounter your answer and start your path to profits.
