【Fujitomi】Nikkei average rebound due to reaction but four trading days later a retreat
The Nikkei stock average fell for the first time in four trading days, closing at 19,843 yen, down 52.70 yen (0.26%) from the previous day. Although the yen had been weakening, profit-taking sales were in the lead ahead of the psychological 20,000 yen threshold after the sizable rise up to yesterday.
TOPIX also fell, ending at 1,581.77, down 4.09 points (0.26%). The trading value on the Tokyo Stock Exchange First Section was 2,610.3 billion yen, and the trading volume was 1,990.9 million shares. The number of declining issues on the First Section was 950, advancing 918, and 147 were unchanged.
From today, major companies are set to announce their financial results in succession. According to Tokyo Stock Exchange data, more than 900 companies on the First Section are scheduled to report their full-year results for the March 2017 term this week. A mood to scrutinize the earnings reports is rising in the Tokyo stock market.
