My Disclosure Request and Litigation Experience
(
For quite some time, social media and bulletin boards have become places where people can write as they please
*People who get emotional and post when their opinions are denied
*People who post to vent their stress
*People who post with a certain purpose in mind (I personally feel this is common)
I also wrote a little on Twitter,
In my case, regarding defamatory posts about me or my company,
I filed numerous disclosure requests, and among them there were cases that even went to criminal trial for obstruction of business with false accusations
Today I will share a few things I learned from those experiences
(If it helps someone, these experiences will also be a source of learning)
1. Choose a lawyer who specializes in this
2. Disclosure requests are a high hurdle
(There are many things written that cannot be disclosed!?)
3. Be prepared that financially you may have to cover the costs yourself
(Even if you win a case and receive compensation from the other party, expenses are often greater)
4. The laws regarding online postings are very lenient
Many people might give up lawsuits, thinking they will be financially burdened and morally harmed, but
Unless more cases are filed, the current lenient laws cannot be changed
