《East Asia Economics ONLINE column currently published》The gap between ideals and reality
Good morning, this is Matsushita.
Every Saturday, we deliver a column on a theme related to investing.
Today's theme is,
“The Gap Between Ideals and Reality.”
Do you have ideals or dreams you want to achieve,
goals you strive for?
Of course you do.
But the reality in front of you
is far from your ideals, isn’t it?
That is only natural for everyone.
What matters is, moving forward,
to bridge the gap between ideals and reality,
and to steadily realize your ideals, dreams, and goals,
or to just keep dreaming and complaining about reality,
without ever achieving them—the difference comes from where this comes from, I have written.
If you want to realize your ideals, dreams, and goals,
please read on.

No. 191 “The Gap Between Ideals and Reality”
In our daily lives, there is a gap between our ideals, dreams, and goals and reality.
A gap is a gap, misalignment, and a discrepancy. This is only natural, and it is hard to imagine
that the immediate reality will go exactly as we wish. From here, it is necessary to Bridge the gap between
ideals, dreams, and goals.
In fact, the process of filling this gap is surprisingly simple.
First, write your ideals, dreams, and goals on paper. Next, on the same page, write the reality in comparison to the ideals.
Finally, list as many obstacles or barriers that hinder the path to or realization of the ideals and reality as you can think of.
Then, take time to slowly overcome these obstacles and barriers.
That’s all there is to it.
This process becomes even clearer in the context of investing stages. Investors who are profitable continuously perform this process
and repeatedly overcome obstacles and barriers. That’s why they approach their ideals,
dreams, and goals and consistently earn profits daily. Meanwhile,
investors who keep losing simply wish for the realization of their ideals in their minds
without taking the necessary steps. If you don’t take action,
there will never be a time when the gap between ideals and reality is bridged.
What about you? When you feel the gap between ideals and reality,
what action will you take next? That difference in actions
is what bridges the gap and makes your ideals a reality, so start taking action.
