Regarding EA’s “differences in entries due to environment”
(※This content is also described on our blog, and because it is important, we would like to note it here in this "Investment Guide".
0f course, the blog article explains it in more detail)
Note that the blog post contains more detailed explanations) - Dr. Neko
Recently, regarding Pips_miner_EA,
we have received voices from several people that
“GoGoJiang’s forward does not match the same entry”
and so on.
Regarding this point,
this has been a topic with other EAs as well,
so I would like to整理 it once.
(※This time it will be a bit lengthy, so
please take your time to read it when you have a moment)
<(Premise) [Differences in EA entries can arise from many factors]>
First, basically,
In an EA, even if the environment differs, the entry point being identical
is almost certainly impossible, so
we would like you to be aware of that.
In MT4 EA operation,
(1) Differences in brokers,
(2) Differences between demo and real accounts,
(3) Differences in data delivery rates,
(4) Differences in spreads,
(5) Slippage (requotes/slippage),
(6) Internet environment differences (communication conditions, server maintenance, etc.),
(7) PC updates and work状況,
(8) PC specs and current CPU usage,
these are【a very large number of factors】that
can influence trading differences.
And in reality, depending on timing,
there are times when the drift becomes large
and times when the drift becomes small.
For example,
with regards to “Pips_miner_EA,”
the drift had been small until now,
but recently, some felt the drift increased significantly.
I think there are people who feel that way.
As for the cause,
one reason is that【there was sudden, rapid price movement at that time (or point in time)】
which tends to enlarge entry differences.
In this sense,
entry differences arise due to the environment, of course,
and also due to the timing, and
we should注意 that“entry differences are not always constant.”
Some people think, “Because it’s a PC, it must match 99% for the EA to function properly,”
but
when the environment differs, achieving 99% match is impossible, and
if this were to happen,
running on the same PC with the same broker and same demo account
would allow for up to 99% match, in my view.
<【Gogo-Jean’s trading results】are not the absolute truth>
Also, at present,
GoGoJiang’s forward results have become a kind of【benchmark】,
and many feel that it is strange if they don’t match GoGoJiang’s forward results.
However, this view is somewhat偏った (biased),
for example,
MT4_1
MT4_2
MT4_3
and if you run the same EA on the MT4 in three environments,
MT4_1 and
MT4_2 and
MT4_3,
there will be slight entry differences in each.
Because GoGoJiang’s forward results are highly noticeable, you might want to believe them,
but in reality, as described above, a certain drift occurs across the board.
(※This phenomenon occurs with almost any EA)
Also, for GoGoJiang’s MT4,
sometimes, MT4 stops running
and this happens often (in such cases, we request resuming forward measurement),
and Windows updates can coincide with EA entry timing,
and various factors can cause different trades than your MT4,
or there might be no entries at times,
so please understand that the differences at this point are natural.
<“Realistic entry match rate” and “Long-term revenue expectations”>
As described above,
when you run MT4 with different environments and different brokers
entry differences are bound to occur to some extent,
and as a result, the long-term entry match rate being around 80–90% is within the normal range
.
Also, as I have repeatedly said,
when you run an EA for a long period,
you may find that when GoGoJiang’s forward has a losing trade, your own MT4 happens to close in profit
—this is, of course, possible.
Thus,
even if there is a temporary difference in entries,
in the long term, gains and losses offset and you end up with a similar overall profitability
as a result.
(※Provided the spreads and other trading conditions are the same)
Therefore,
if you are using overseas brokers,
the spread tends to be wider compared to GoGoJiang’s forward,
so the total performance tends to decline,
please understand this well.
(※In overseas brokers, zero-cut advantages are often present)
And regarding Pips_miner_EA,
we have compared the forward results of demo accounts with OANDA and
GoGoJiang’s demo accounts with OANDA,
for more than about a year,
and thus far
【Regarding Pips_miner_EA,
the occurrence of entry differences is not very large】
in our impression.
People who started using it recently may
see the recent entry differences and feel that it is an EA with large entry differences,
but if you run it long term, you will likely understand that it is not an EA with particularly large entry differences.
<Example method to verify entry differences 【Everyone’s MT4】>
Currently, GoGoJiang has
made it easier to understand these entry differences by implementing a system called
【Everyone’s MT4】.
This allows viewing other users’ EA entry results
so that, not only the forward of GoGoJiang,
but the forward status of many people can be compared,
to see whether there are entry differences, how large they are, and what level of difference is normal.
This time, from there,
we would like to紹介 the trade status of users using【Pips_miner_EA】 in the master MT4 community.
As shown in the image above,
this user is using many EAs, including【Pips_miner_EA】 as listed in “Currently Used EA List.”
And, in the following form,
you can see the forward trade history for each EA.
Thus, you can check the forward trade history for GBPUSD around 10/30–31,
・GoGoJiang’s trade history,
・This user’s trade history,
and
・Your own trade history,
to see the differences in entries across each environment.
This makes it very easy to understand the level of entry drift in each environment.
<Summary>
Based on the above,
when evaluating each EA’s performance,
・If the environment differs, forward differences are natural, and
the manner in which the differences occur also varies with timing
・If spreads are wide,
it is natural for performance to differ due to MT4 specifications
・It is important to check forward status over the long term rather than short term
・Comparing many MT4 forwards (Everyone’s MT4) reveals entry differences
Keeping these points in mind when judging EA performance or forward status is beneficial,
I think it would be good to do so.
Also, judging EA performance hastily based on temporary entry differences would be a bit wasteful (the EA should be run long-term to assess entry differences and overall performance).
I hope you understand this as well.
Thank you for reading such a lengthy piece. m(_ _)m
