HT_Grid that provides a comfortable display of MT4's grid and Japan Standard Time
Mr. HT, who is both a programmer and an FX trader, is extremely famous in the MT4 world.
The reason is that he freely provides many indicators and tools, and many investors use them.
Today, among the indicators developed by Mr. HT, the MT4 grid that displays Japan time comfortably and is downloaded by a tremendous number of investors every day,HT_Gridis something I would like to actually try using and report on.
In the first place, HT developed HT_Grid for three reasons.MrHTHT_Gridwas developed for the following three reasons.
1. I don’t want to use MT4’s standard grid display. (Because the tick positions are fixed, the numbers can become hard to read as they change.)
2. I want to display in Japan Time, but I personally don’t want to open a separate window.
3. I don’t want to display new lines on MT4’s vertical and horizontal axes (they get in the way when I draw lines for discretionary trading). Therefore, I created them inside the chart as shown in the following image.
HTHTsays that, “it is unclear whether it will display correctly on all MT4s in circulation,” but this time we displayed it onGolden Way Japan FXTF MT4.
In the image above, part ① shows short lines spaced about 10 pips apart.
According to Mr. HT, you can grasp the vertical axis scale at a glance (he describes this as the vertical scale, which is basically the overall sense of how wide in pips it is), which is understated but useful.
Also, part ② is the Japan Time-adjusted display. It is color-coded into five time zones: Oceania, Japan, Europe, Europe+America, and America.
MT4 times shown vary by broker (e.g., Russian time or UK time (GMT)), but for Japanese investors, displaying Japan Time is more convenient for FX trading, so the ② feature is very valuable.
A user comment on HT’s blog
“When I tried it, I thought it was wonderful. I was looking for items not listed in the ‘currently displayed lines.’ This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you.”
This illustrates that there are many FX traders seeking a tool that displays Japan Time in a place that does not obscure the chart itself or other indicator lines.
For such people,HT_Gridis a long-awaited tool.
If you are a reader of this article and have not yetHT_Gridused it, I think it is a tool you should definitely download at least once.
