Hello~.
Tonight is finally the first FOMC after summer vacation. The market is pricing in a small rate cut (it seems almost certain), so if the actual results differ from expectations, there may be moves to incorporate the outcomes.
After the policy rate announcement, there will be remarks from Federal Reserve officials, so all eyes are on that too. Depending on whether future rate cuts are pursued actively (dovish) or reluctantly (more hawkish), a medium- to long-term trend could form.
By the way, after the FOMC ends, there are events such as the Australian employment statistics, Swiss policy rate, BOE (UK) policy rate, and BOJ (Japan) policy rate, making for a busy schedule.
Market moves depend on the FOMC, but even with sharp volatility, technicals are observed. It’s good to be aware of medium- to long-term resistance and support.
Today, I’ll provide an explanation starting from the Dow after a long time.
