[Development Log] Initial Observation of Ranking — Google rankings for 10 keywords and the display/click data in Search Console
Key Points
• Observed rankings with Gyro-n SEO (in use from November 1, 10 keywords) as of November 7
• Google within top 10: 6 of 10 keywords. Outside top 10: 3 keywords. Of the 4 keywords with notable search volumes, 2 are outside top 10
• Top 10 queries in Search Console: 155 impressions, 0 clicks (calculated)
• Rank is a separate metric from actual inbound traffic
■1. Observation Setup
Rank tracking switched to Gyro-n SEO after canceling GRC on October 27 and stopping Rank Tracker Free (due to speed issues, 1 word per hour for 28 words).
Three-month free trial, Starter plan with 10 keywords.
Conditions were: monthly budget within 2,000 yen, depth of rank needed up to around 30th place.
Free tier ends if plan or options are changed, so we’ve kept settings unchanged.
Ranks obtained for Google, Yahoo, and mobile.
The 10 registered keywords are categorized into: lab name (semura lab), validation-related (EA logic validation, logic validation EA, EA validation tool free, ea validation, fx automated trading validation, commercial EA logic breakdown), request-related (EA redesign request), and concerns-related (fx ea not profitable), operation-related (mt4 backtesting method).
Note: Semura Lab’s Google column shows as outside on the tool, but this is fluctuation; in reality it ranks first.
■2. Google Ranking
Being in the top 10 corresponds to page 1 of search results. The breakdown by rank band is as follows.
• 1st–3rd: 4 words
• 4th–10th: 2 words (EA Validation Tool Free at 5th, ea validation at 9th)
• 11th–20th: 1 word (fx automated trading validation at 15th)
• Outside top 20: 3 words
The tool showed search volumes for 4 words: ea validation 320, fx ea not profitable 260, fx automated trading validation 260, mt4 backtest method 210.
The remaining 6 words had no data.
Rank for those 4 words: 9th, 15th, outside top, outside top; words without volumes tended to rank higher earlier.
Additionally, the annual trend for those 4 words was negative, ranging from −19.05% to −63.64%.
The two outside-top words (fx ea not profitable, mt4 backtesting method) showed zero impressions in the ad keyword report as well.
In both ads and organic search, these two words have not yet become entry points.
■3. Differences by Engine/Device
Words in the top 10 were six for Google, Yahoo, and mobile each.
However, the specific words vary and do not all match.
“Logic Validation EA” appears 2nd on Google, 3rd on Yahoo, 1st on mobile. “EA redesign request” is outside top on Google and Yahoo, but 9th on mobile.
Different search engines and devices can yield different results.
Treat numbers as values on a single screen.
The ranking list also shows an “AIO” badge indicating AI overview.
Among the 10 words, 8 have the AIO badge (not present for semura lab and EA redesign request); green and gray differences could not be confirmed.
■4. Search Console Display and Clicks
There are 17 queried terms listed.
This time, we looked at the top 10 by highest impressions; the remaining 7 were not checked.
The sum of impressions for these 10 is 155 (calculated).
All of the top-impression terms showed zero clicks.
All seven keywords with ranking in Google are included in the top 10 impressions.
The three outside-top keywords are not included.
Ranking and impressions do not correlate directly: for example, second place “EA Logic Validation” had 9 impressions, while ninth place “ea validation” had 23 impressions.
Also, “semura lab” shows 30 impressions, the most, but 0 clicks.
Impressions appear for keywords outside the registered list as well.
For example, “unit ea means” appears 4 times, and “smc snr” appears 3 times.
It’s not possible to tell from this screen which pages were shown.
■5. Observations from Manual Searches
On November 2, manually searching Google for EA Logic Validation related terms, the top page did not appear; glossary (/ea-glossary) ranked 1st and Lab note article ranked 2nd.
The AI overview also cited the glossary.
The glossary was added on October 6.
Because there isn’t enough content to create separate pages for each example, both the EA verdict example and glossary are consolidated into one page each.
However, this is only observation on one screen.
Search results can vary by viewer, location, and login status.
Whether the glossary addition contributed cannot be determined at this time.
■6. Observation Limitations
• It is not possible to tell which page is displayed from the ranking list
• Rankings move daily. For fx automated trading validation, the tool showed a drop of 7 positions from the previous day to 15th
• The aggregation period in Search Console may not align with the observation period for rankings
• 10 keywords are a small sample and do not reflect overall site search status
• The meaning of the green and gray AIO marks is not confirmed in the tool’s documentation
• There is no basis to explain why clicks are zero (early stage, wording not chosen, etc.)
All of the above are preliminary observations and do not indicate trends.
Numbers may look different as they grow.
We at Semura Lab. will record rankings, impressions, and clicks without manipulating numbers.
If you have questions about how to interpret the numbers around search, please feel free to reach out at the Omnibus Consultation Center.
