【11/5 Dollar-Yen Scalping Points】
Thank you for your hard work! Now let's go with dollar-yen scalping tonight as well!
First, the Tokyo session overview for today.
Currently USD/JPY is around 157.95. This morning USD/JPY started around 158.35, but during the Tokyo session it moved with a predominance of selling the dollar.
The reason cited is that after the U.S. midterm elections, Trump’s Republican party suffered a heavy defeat, reducing the likelihood of a further attack on Iran and causing crude oil prices to fall.
USD/JPY is expected to drop about 40 pips from the morning level as it transitions to the overseas session.
Since the midterm elections, it has been alternating between declines and partial recoveries, but not with sudden, dramatic swings; it has been moving at a reasonable pace, so many traders are probably doing quite well. Please count on tonight as well!
Now, here are tonight’s USD/JPY scalping points (my notes).
● Moves near the London market open at 17:00
● Moves after the U.S. initial jobless claims release at 22:30
● Moves around the New York market open (Dow opens at 23:30)

Other notes…
・At 22:50 there will be remarks by the U.S.: Hamrick and Cleveland Fed presidents
・Headlines related to Middle East tensions and crude prices should be watched

Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping strategy” targets the moves around the London and New York market openings and the 22:30 release of U.S. initial jobless claims. For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” I think there shouldn’t be any issue handling it as per theory. The indicators aren’t highly anticipated, so light winds are possible. But there should be enough volatility to trade.
Also, if you’re aiming for shorts with the “15-minute chart scalping strategy,” wait for a slight pullback and be ready to sell around 158.30–158.40 or lower, then move lower. If broken, no trade.
Regarding recent updates,A while ago, Mr. GoGoJungle kindly visited my office from afar for an interview about “scalping.” I’m honored. I spoke briefly, so please take a look when you have time.

Because scalping profits are small, it’s often thought there are 24-hour opportunities, but that’s not the case. By targeting times with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The times I target are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open time (in US daylight saving time 16:00– / in US standard time 17:00–)
・New York market open time (in US daylight saving time 22:00– / in US standard time 23:00–)
Even immediately after U.S. indicators/events are released, volatility rises and opportunities appear. However, in the first few minutes after the release, spreads can widen, so always enter after they return to normal spreads.
Please check the U.S. indicators/events schedule in advance. Understanding when opportunities will come helps you accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning right before U.S. indicators/events. If you move against it, you can’t stop the damage in an instant. Careless mistakes are not allowed, absolutely not.
The U.S. indicators/events schedule can be checked on the websites of each securities/FX broker.
Of course, there are many other points besides the three above, but I’ve discussed the essential points you should keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.
