【11/4 Dollar/Yen Scalping Points】
Good work today! Alright, let's do dollar/yen scalping again tonight!
First, here is today’s Tokyo time overview.
Currently, the dollar/yen is around 157.95. This morning it started around 158.65, but during Tokyo trading, as results from the U.S. midterm elections indicated that the Republican Party led by President Trump was weak in both the Senate and the House, it dropped more than 1 yen rapidly.
The low for today in Tokyo was 157.40 after 13:30 JST, and from there it rebounded a bit, with the dollar/yen retreating about 70 ticks from the morning level as we transition to overseas trading.
If the Democrats win in a landslide, it could be dollar-negative. However, since this is already priced in, I don’t think we’ll see further sharp declines; for now, the dollar/yen is likely to be sold on rallies?
Now, here are tonight’s dollar/yen scalping points (my notes).
● Movements around the 17:00 London market open
● Movements after the 22:15 release of the “U.S. ADP Employment Report”
● Movements after the 22:30 release of the “U.S. Trade Balance”
● Movements around the 23:00 New York market open (Dow opens at 23:30)
● Movements after the 24:00 release of the “U.S. ISM Non-Manufacturing PMI”
—– Other notes ..
・There is a C.I. at 19:00: “Europe: Consumer Price Index”
・Be cautious of headlines related to U.S.-China elections
・Be cautious of headlines related to Middle East tensions and crude oil prices

Tonight’s “1-minute scalping strategy” targets are movements around the London and New York market opens, and the moves after 22:15 U.S. ADP, 22:30 U.S. Trade Balance, and 24:00 U.S. ISM Non-Manufacturing PMI releases. For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” handling as per the theory should pose no problem. Because the U.S.-China election is not a close race, there shouldn’t be dramatic headlining swings.
Also, if you aim for shorts with the “15-minute scalping strategy,” wait for a slight rebound and be ready to sell around the 158.40–158.50 level, then chase lower; if breached, no trade.
On another note,Recently, Mr. Gogojan came all the way to my office for an interview about “scalping.” I’m grateful. I spoke a little, so please take a look when you have time.

Scalping tends to seem like there are 24-hour opportunities because the profit per trade is small, but that isn’t the case. By targeting periods with relatively high volatility, you can drastically reduce the difficulty of trading.
The times I target are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open time (UTC: 16:00 during U.S. daylight time / 17:00 during U.S. standard time)
・New York market open time (UTC: 22:00 during U.S. daylight time / 23:00 during U.S. standard time)
Even immediately after U.S. indicators and events, volatility increases and there are many opportunities. However, in the minutes right after an announcement, the spread can widen, so the rule is to always enter after it returns to the normal spread.
Always check U.S. indicators and event schedules in advance on the websites of brokers/FX providers. By knowing when opportunities come, you can accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning immediately before U.S. indicators/events. If you go against them, you can’t even be looked at. You can be blown to stop-loss in an instant. Careless mistakes are not allowed, never.
U.S. indicator/event schedules can be checked on each broker/FX provider’s website, etc.
Of course there are other points besides the three above, but I’ve talked about the minimum points to keep in mind when scalping the dollar/yen.
Also..
Actually.. I’m fully releasing one of my trading methods, “15-minute scalp,” for free. I hope it will be of some help (completely free).
