Midterm Elections 2
As the midterm election day approaches, the first polling place is expected to close around 8:00 a.m. Japan time. I expect there are few people who are new to following U.S. elections, but for the sake of explanation, it is virtually impossible for results to be knowable in one day. In most cases, results are delayed because mail ballots arrive late, typically taking about a week, and the Senate tends to be particularly slow. This time, as in past close-state races, results are expected to be delayed, so it would be wise to assume you may not see results anywhere until later this week. It is not like breaking away to a single instant release as with economic indicators.
