On holidays, in the morning and evening, cash out on all 16 singles — but the maximum unrealized loss was 8,393 yen【 serialized Part 18】
Serial Yoko and Kenji's GOLD EA Mastery Notes Part 18 (Discretionary Freedom LITE — Holiday Records & Demo Account)
Hello, this is Yoko.
On Tuesday, November 3 (a holiday), Kenji ran "Nampin Technique Discretionary Freedom LITE" on a demo account. In the morning, while out for errands. In the evening, aiming for a pullback after the decline. The result was,All 16 trades were single-shot profits with no averaging down.
It was a day that went very well. That’s why I’m honestly listing the numbers.
First, the conclusion (demo account, one-day record)
・Number of closures:16 trades(All single-shot profits with no averaging down)
・Total profit/loss from closures:+25,463 yen
・Largest intraday drawdown:8,393 yen
※This is the sum of the P/L column in the closure history. The displayed overall account P/L (25,007 yen) differs by 456 yen. This is a one-day record for a demo account. It does not guarantee future profits.
Morning: Set before leaving
November 3 was a holiday, and Kenji had to go out from the morning. Therefore, adjusted the operating hours to start at 6:00and placed a long (BUY) on GOLD, then left the house.
・Instrument: GOLD (XAUUSD). Preset was GOLD B (Day), adjusted
・Operating hours: 6:00–21:00 (Japan time)
・Lot size: 0.05
・LOOP: 10 times (first time and automatic 10 times,total 11 cycles)
・Re-entry condition: NextBar
When I returned,11 trades were closed for profit in single-shot entries. No averaging down occurred even once.Total closing profit/loss was+13,292 yen. Closings occurred from around 8:00 to 10:00 Japan time. After using up the 11 cycles of the LOOP, the tool stopped automatically.
Evening: Targeting a pullback after the drop
In the afternoon, GOLD fell quite a bit. The morning trades were around 3,946–3,961 dollars. The first evening trade was3,898.88 dollars, about 50 dollars lower than in the morning.
So, Kenjiincreased the lot to 0.10 and set 5 cycles. The results are as follows.
・Number of closures:5 trades(From 17:00 to 18:51 Japan time)
・All closed with +1.50 dollars each. No averaging down
・Total closing profit/loss:+12,171 yen(about 2,400 yen per trade)
Because the lot was doubled, each trade’s profit is roughly doubled as well (from about 1,200 yen to about 2,400 yen). The profit per exit is the same as in the morning.
Placing the day’s numbers together
▲ November 3 closure history (16 trades). The times shown are the broker’s server time (Japan time is +7 hours).
The largest intraday drawdown was about0.3 timesthe total closures’ profit/loss (+25,463 yen). Even after increasing the lot to 0.10 in the evening, the 8,393 yen from the morning was not surpassed.
What’s notable, though, isthat even on a day when no averaging down occurred, the maximum intraday drawdown was 8,393 yen. While holding a position, there are times when losses can accumulate.
This is a day that went well
・This day’s trend started higher from the morning and also rebounded after a late-day dip.Because it rebounded, I could exit with a single shotprofit.
・If the same settings had faced continued decline, averaging down would occur. On November 2 (0.05 lot), the largest intraday drawdown was 29,547 yen, and the profit was +8,193 yen, about 3.6 times larger. Simply doubling the lot would approximately double the drawdown (to about 59,000 yen). This scales with the lot size, but in reality can be larger depending on the market.
・Because this is a demo account, you can observe calmly. When increasing the lot with real money, first decide in advance how much maximum drawdown you can endure.
Kenji said this:
「It might be a very rare example, but days like this do exist.”
Days like this do happen. But not every day. There are painful days like November 2 as well. The promise of this series is to lay out both records side by side.
Try recording the same in a trial version
In a 7-day trial version, try writing down the following five items.
① Lot size and LOOP count
② Total profit/loss from closures
③Maximum intraday drawdown during operation
④ Number of times averaging down occurred
Only looking at ② can make it seem successful. Looking at ③ and ④ together reveals the true picture.
