【11/3 Dollar-Yen Scalping Points】
Good work today! Now let's do Dollar-Yen scalping again tonight!
First, the Tokyo session overview for today.
Currently, the USD/JPY is around 157.80. This morning it started around 157.90, but during the Tokyo session it moved with a solid bottom near just below 158. The market was expected to be quiet today due to Tokyo being closed, but it’s surprisingly still. We have expectations for the overseas session to bring some movement.
Also, it would be nice if the results of the U.S. midterm elections become a catalyst for USD/JPY to move again.
The USD/JPY is likely to hand over to the overseas session at roughly the same level as in the morning.
Now, here are tonight’s USD/JPY scalping points (my notes).
● Movements around 17:00 near the London market open
● Movements around 23:00 near the New York market open (Dow opens at 23:30)
● Movements after the 24:00 release of the U.S. JOLTS job openings data
—–
Other notes…
・Be mindful of headlines related to the U.S. midterm elections
・Be mindful of headlines related to Middle East developments and crude oil prices

Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping strategy” targets the movements around the London and New York market opens, and the movement after the 24:00 U.S. JOLTS job openings release. Users of the “1-minute Scalping Club” should be able to handle it in line with theory.
Also, if you aim for shorts with the “15-minute Scalping Strategy,” wait for a small pullback and sell around 158.00–158.10 or below, expecting a downward move. Target selling on a pullback related to the U.S. midterm election adjustments. If it breaks through, no trade.
Regarding recent developments,Recently, Mr. Gogojan kindly visited my office from a great distance and interviewed me about “scalping.” I’m grateful. I spoke a little, so please watch it when you have time.

Scalping has the impression that there are many opportunities around 24 hours, but that is not the case. By aiming for time periods with sufficiently high volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The time periods I target are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open time (16:00- US daylight saving time / 17:00- US standard time)
・New York market open time (22:00- US daylight saving time / 23:00- US standard time)
After major U.S. indicators/events are announced, volatility rises and opportunities abound. However, in the few minutes right after the announcement, the spreads can widen, so the rule is to enter only after the spread returns to normal.
Please always check the U.S. indicators/events schedule in advance. Knowing the times when opportunities arise helps you accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning right before U.S. indicators/events releases. If you move against it, you’ll be hard-pressed. A careless mistake is unacceptable.
U.S. indicators/events schedules can be checked on the websites of each brokerage or FX broker.
Of course, there are many other points besides the three above, but I’ve shared the minimum points you should hold when scalping USD/JPY.
