The point where Episode 23 reaches ±3σ is obvious at a glance. Marking the overextensions of the Bollinger Bands with SL_B3S
ShenLong Lab's Shenlong.
For first-time visitors, please allow me to introduce myself a little.
As a active trader who continually generates monthly profits with my own indicators, I have developed more than 1,000 indicators and automation tools to date.
ShenLong Lab's second project, the eighth item of "Market Compass"
"SL_B3S (Bollinger 3 Sigma)"
has been released.
This time, I will talk about the reason I created this item and tips for checking Bollinger Band ±3σ touches in MT4/MT5.
Is that wick reaching ±3σ?The ±3σ of the Bollinger Bands is the outermost line, which the price hardly reaches.
Where it does reach becomes a guide of excessive price movement.
Whether the wick tip touched ±3σ can be hard to determine unless you zoom in on the chart.
Personally, I used to compare the candle wick with the line by bringing my eyes close.
A workaround with standard features- Set Bollinger Bands to only ±3σ and reduce the number of lines
- Highlight only the ±3σ line by changing its color and making it thicker
- Zoom in on the chart to confirm the overlap of wick and line
All of these ultimately come down to visually comparing by eye.
If it reaches ±3σ, it’s fine to mark it.
That was what I created SL_B3S for.
From here on, I will introduce how to use SL_B3S in a video.
