【11/2 USD/JPY Scalping Points】
Good work today! Let’s go ahead with USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, from today’s Tokyo time overview.
Currently, USD/JPY is around 157.75. This morning, USD/JPY started around 157.45, but during Tokyo time it showed a slight rise; however, at 158.00 there was strong selling pressure on the pullback, resulting in a capped advance.
The early Tokyo buyback in the dollar came after headlines that two tankers in the Strait of Hormuz were blown up due to mine contact, causing crude prices to rise.
USD/JPY is likely to hand off to overseas session with about a 30-pip rise from the morning level.
Tomorrow is the U.S. midterm election voting day, making this week a U.S.-midterm election WEEK. We’d like new catalysts that move USD/JPY again.
Also, tonight marks the start of U.S. daylight saving time, so economic release times are one hour later.
Now, tonight’s USD/JPY scalping points (my personal notes).
● Movements around 17:00 near the London market open
● Movements around 23:00 near the New York market open (Dow opens at 23:30)
● Movements after the 24:00 release of the ISM Manufacturing Index

Other notes…
・From today, U.S. winter time begins
・Be mindful of headlines related to Middle East affairs and crude prices

Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping strategy” targets moves around the London and New York market opens, and moves after the 24:00 ISM Manufacturing Index release. Users of the “1-minute scalping club” should handle according to theory without issue.
Also, if you’re aiming for shorts with the “15-minute scalping strategy,” wait for a slight pullback and look to sell at around 158.00–157.90 or lower, then move lower. This is a pre-midterm adjustment selling approach.
Additionally, a quick update:Recently, Mr. Gogojang generously visited my office from far away for an interview about “scalping.” I’m grateful. I spoke a bit, so please check it out when you have time.

Scalping, due to narrower target profit per trade, is often thought to offer 24-hour opportunities, but that’s not the case. By targeting periods with relatively high volatility, you can dramatically lower the difficulty of trading.
The timeframes I target are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open time (UTC-4 in US summer time / UTC+1 in US winter time)
・New York market open time (UTC-4 in US summer time / UTC-5 in US winter time)
Even immediately after U.S. data/events release, volatility rises and creates more opportunities. However, in the first few minutes after the release, spreads may widen, so the rule is to enter after spreads return to normal.
Please check the U.S. data/event schedule in advance. Knowing the times when opportunities arise helps you accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, avoid positioning immediately before U.S. data/events. If you go against it, it’s devastating. You can be taken to the stop-loss level in an instant. Careless mistakes are not acceptable, absolutely.
U.S. data/event schedules can be checked on the websites of various brokerage firms and FX providers.
Of course there are other points as well, but I’ve explained the essential points you should know when scalping USD/JPY.
