[10/28 USDJPY scalping points]
Good job today! Alright, let’s do USD/JPY scalping this evening as well!
First, here is today’s Tokyo time overview.
Currently USD/JPY is around 157.90. This morning it started around 157.95, but during Tokyo time it hovered just below 158. It showed little movement.
Tonight we’re waiting for the US FOMC and Mr. Warsh. The focus is on a rate hike in December.
I’d like a bit more speculation and position-adjusting buying/selling, but… the market seems to have priced in a hold in October and a rate hike in December.
USD/JPY is likely to hand off to overseas trading around roughly the same level as in the morning.
Now, here are tonight’s USD/JPY scalping points (my memo).
• Movements around 16:00 near the London market open
• Movements around 22:00 near the New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)
• Movements after 27:00 following the “US FOMC policy rate & statement”
• Movements after 27:30 following the “Press conference of US Fed Chair Powell”
—– Other notes …
• Be cautious of headlines related to Middle East situations and oil prices

Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping strategy” targets movements around the London and New York market opens, and movements after 27:00 and 27:30. For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” if you handle it according to theory, there should be no problem. FOMC-related activity occurs in the late night, so do your best to stay awake!
Also, the shorts in the “15-minute scalping strategy” are not ideal since the market is in wait-and-see mode for the US FOMC. Tonight, stay focused on the solid “1-minute scalping.”
Also about recent developments,A few days ago, Mr. Gogojan kindly visited my office from afar and interviewed me about “scalping.” I am grateful. I spoke a bit (embarrassingly), so please take a look when you have time.

Scalping tends to seem like there’s always a 24-hour opportunity because the profit targets are small, but that’s not the case. By aiming for time periods with higher volatility, you can dramatically reduce the difficulty of trading.
The time periods I target are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
• London market open time (during US daylight saving time 16:00– / during US standard time 17:00–)
• New York market open time (during US daylight saving time 22:00– / during US standard time 23:00–)
Even immediately after US data/events, volatility increases and opportunities abound. However, in the few minutes after release, spreads can widen, so always enter after the spreads return to normal levels.
Please always check the US data/event schedule in advance. Knowing the times when opportunities will arise helps you accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning just before US data/events. If you go against it, you’ll be wiped out in an instant. Careless mistakes are not acceptable, absolutely not.
US data/event schedule can be checked on the websites of each securities/FX broker.
Of course there are many other points, but I’ve discussed the essential points you should at least keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.

Actually, one of my trading methods, “15-minute scalping,” is publicly available completely for free. I hope it will be of some help (it’s completely free).
