[10/27] Tonight's USD/JPY scalping points and techniques free release
This is Tomizaki from the Trading Office.
【10/27 USD/JPY Scalping Points】
Thanks for your hard work! Now, let's do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, from today's Tokyo session overview.
Currently, USD/JPY is around 157.85. This morning it started around 157.50, but during Tokyo time the dollar buying was slightly dominant. From late in the Tokyo session, European players have been pushing prices higher.
USD/JPY is likely to jump about 35 pips from the morning level as it moves into overseas trading hours.
Now, as for events, the main focus is tomorrow's U.S. FOMC. The focal point is the December rate hike. Since this is already largely priced in, any remarks that push expectations of a rate hike back could move the market. In any case, I earnestly hope today does not become a wait-and-see mood.
So, here are the tonight's USD/JPY scalping points (my memo).
● Movements near 16:00 London market open
● Movements after the 21:30 release of the “U.S. Durable Goods Orders”
● Movements near the 22:00 New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)
● Movements after the 23:00 releases of the “U.S. Consumer Confidence Index” and the “U.S. New Home Sales”
—– Other notes…
・Be cautious about headlines related to Middle East tensions and crude oil prices

Tonight's “1-minute chart scalping strategy” targets movements around the London and New York market openings, and the moves after the 21:30 “U.S. Durable Goods Orders” and the 23:00 “U.S. Consumer Confidence Index” and “U.S. New Home Sales” releases. For members of the “1-Minute Scalping Club,” applying the theory as usual should be fine. If the market moves on indicators, perhaps the “U.S. Consumer Confidence Index”? A calm session is also possible.
Also, if you are aiming for shorts with the “15-minute chart scalping strategy,” wait for a slight pullback and look to sell around the 158.00–158.10 level, then ride the downside. If it breaks, no trade. Given tomorrow's FOMC risk, there may not be aggressive buying or selling.
Also, a current update—Last week, Mr. Gogojan paid a long trip to my office and interviewed me about “scalping.” I am grateful for the opportunity. I spoke a little awkwardly, so please take a look when you have time.

Scalping tends to be thought of as having small profit targets and thus 24-hour opportunities, but that isn’t the case. By targeting periods of higher volatility to some extent, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The time windows I aim for are around the London market open and the New York market open.
・London market open time (16:00 during U.S. daylight saving / 17:00 during U.S. standard time)
・New York market open time (22:00 during U.S. daylight saving / 23:00 during U.S. standard time)
After U.S. indicators and events are released, volatility rises and there are many opportunities. However, in the first few minutes after the release, the spread may widen, so always trade after it returns to the normal spread as a rule.
Please check the U.S. indicator and event schedules in advance on the websites of brokers and FX companies. By knowing the time windows when opportunities arise, you can efficiently accumulate profits.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning right before U.S. indicator and event releases. If you go against the trend, you’ll be in trouble in an instant. Carelessness is not allowed, absolutely not.
U.S. indicator and event schedules can be checked on each broker's and FX dealer's websites.
Of course, there are many other points besides these three, but I have discussed the essential points to keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.
