A game of survival
The USD/JPY is in the 158 yen range. But I still won’t buy!
Today’s USD/JPY is in the lower 158s, and it’s unclear whether it will go up or down.
In times like these, I think it’s important not to rush.
? Why isn’t the USD/JPY moving?
There are two main reasons.
①Next week, there are important meetings in both the US and Japan
There are meetings in the US and Japan to decide what to do about interest rates.
If interest rates change, USD/JPY could move a lot.
②Investors are waiting to see
Because major news hasn’t come out yet, it’s difficult to actively buy or sell.
? Today’s notable prices
Break through 158.95→ Potential for further rise
Around 158.00→ A fork in the road for whether it goes up or down
Under 157.52→ Potential for further yen appreciation
※ Reference level as of October 22.
✅ My trading rules
① Basic stance is long (buy) only
When it’s falling, don’t force a buy.
② Confirm uptrend on 15-minute and 5-minute charts
Check if the chart is turning upward.
③ Look for buying timing on the 1-minute chart
After a small price dip, aim for the next rise.
④ Always set a stop loss
To avoid large losses if the forecast is wrong.
? Finally
In the past, I felt I’d miss opportunities if I didn’t trade daily.
But that’s no longer the case.
FX isn’t a daily-win game. It’s a game of surviving no matter what.
Even if it’s only 3–4 times a month, I want to target only the situations I’m good at.
Today too, I’ll wait without rushing until the buying conditions align!
Can you wait for days without trading as well?
