Range? How do you know something like that? Amazing.
Chart reading, commentary, comprehension, and verbalization
Range? How do you know such a thing? Amazing.
First of all, please allow me to apologize.
To grab attention, I deliberately chose a strong title.
If anyone was made to feel uncomfortable, I’m sorry.
However, in this article, I want to deliver something that gets to the core.
I would be grateful if you read to the end.
Open the chart.
It doesn’t go up or down, it moves sideways.
“Because it’s a range, I’ll wait and see.”
With that decision, I close the chart.
When I open it later, it has already moved decisively in one direction.
If you find yourself repeating this kind of behavior,
I must tell you something harsh.
When you decide it’s a “range,” you stop thinking.
Check whether this applies to you
□ When it moves sideways, you judge it as a “range” and stop watching
□ You have tried counter-trend trading at the upper or lower bound of the range
□ You entered thinking it would break out of the range but it immediately came back
□ When you were waiting, it moved significantly before you noticed
If two or more apply to you, what’s written in this article is the source of your indecision.
Why do you know “this is a range”
Let me ask you a slightly mischievous question.
Right now you can tell it’s moving sideways.
So, why do you know that is a “range”?
You only know it’s a range after the movement ends.
During the movement, no one can say with certainty, “This is a range.”
And yet, the moment you label it “range,” you stop reading the chart.
This is the most wasteful thing you can do.
Look only at who is stronger
In my trading, I don’t use the concept of a range.
In an uptrend, pullbacks may be bought.
In a downtrend, retracements may be sold.
Even when it seems to be moving sideways,
one side, either buyers or sellers, is gradually gaining strength.
Look only at “which side is stronger right now.”
To label it a “range” is
like deciding it’s a draw in the middle of a game and turning off the TV.
The game is still ongoing.
What you can learn from the video
・A view to judge which side is stronger when it’s moving sideways
・How to view movements that look like a range on higher timeframes
・Where to wait when you view it as a pullback or retreat
・What to verify next instead of ending with “watching”
Who this video is for
・People who get lost about what to do when it moves sideways
・Those who keep losing on range-trade or range-break trades
・People who miss big moves while waiting
From here on, I will explain in detail using actual charts in a video.
