Episode 15: I created SL_TFD to prominently display the current timeframe on both the main and the sub charts
It is the Shenlong of ShenLong Lab (シェンロン ラボ).
For first-time visitors, please allow me to introduce myself briefly.
As a current trader who continues to generate monthly profits with self-made indicators, I have developed over 1,000 indicators and automation tools to date.
ShenLong Lab’s 15th item
“SL_TFD (TimeFrame Display)”
has been released.
This time, I will talk about why I created this item and tips for confirming the current timeframe in MT4/MT5.
What time frame is that chart?
To verify which time frame it is, check using the small text.
After switching the time frame, you may lose track of which time frame you are on.
A trick you can do with standard features
- Confirm from the chart’s upper-left title (e.g., “EURJPY,M15”)
- Check which button is pressed on the toolbar’s time-frame buttons
Both are small text or buttons, so you have to lean in when charts are laid out side by side.
Time frames should be shown large on the chart.
I myself trade with 15-minute, 5-minute, and 1-minute charts lined up. SL_TFD was created to eliminate that hassle.
From here on, I will introduce how to use SL_TFD in a video.
