Episode 14 I created SL_SPD to display the current spread on a chart
This is ShenLong, the dragon of ShenLong Lab (シェンロン ラボ).
To introduce myself a little for first-time visitors.
As a living trader who continues to produce monthly profits with my own indicator, I have developed over 1,000 indicators and automation tools to date.
ShenLong Lab’s 14th item
“SL_SPD (SPreaD)”
has been released.
This time, I’ll talk about why I created this item and tips for checking spreads in MT4/MT5.
How do you currently check the spread?Spreads can widen before or after an indicator release or during early hours.
In MT4/MT5, I think many people open the market watch window and compare the bid and ask prices.
There are times you realize after the fact that it widened when you’ve been focusing on the chart.
A practical approach with standard features- Show the “Spread” column in the market watch window
- Plot the Ask price on the chart to see the gap between bid and ask
Both are convenient, but to view the numbers in pips, one extra step is needed.
It would be nice to display the current spread on the chart in pips.
I used to open the market watch window and check the spread before entering a trade. SL_SPD was created so I could check it without taking my eyes off the chart.
From here on, I will introduce how to use SL_SPD in a video.
