Nice to meet you. Thank you for viewing my profile. I am Shinryu, founder of "ShenLong Lab (Shenlong Lab)". I learned programming to become a trader. Currently, as an active trader who continues to generate monthly profits with my own indicators, I have developed over 1,000 financial indicators and automation tools. What is truly needed to keep winning in the market is not complex logic. It is "visualization that eliminates hesitation" and "thorough efficiency of verification work." ShenLong Lab's indicators are all tools I created to solve things I personally found to be hard to see or time-consuming in trading. They make work easier, reduce stress, and allow you to focus on analysis and trading itself. We have crafted them into tools you can feel the difference of on your daily charts. All parameters are labeled in Japanese, and you can select them with ON/OFF rather than true/false, so even those without specialized knowledge can set them without hesitation. The logic that can be verbalized resides in code. I will continue to develop tools that translate trading intuition and stress into words, reduce manual waste, and maximize the results of thinking and trading. This time, I will talk about why I created this item and tips for confirming the remaining time until a bar closes in MT4/MT5.

In how many seconds will that bar close?

What I was watching was the computer clock.

For 5-minute and 15-minute bars, you calculate in your head when it will close.

Ways to work with standard features

Look at the computer clock and count down to the bar close
From the candlestick timestamp and the current time, calculate the remaining time

Both require looking away from the chart to perform the calculation.

It would be nice if the remaining time could be displayed in the corner of the chart.

I myself sometimes wait for the bar to close before making a judgment. SL_BCD was created to remove that hassle.
