Episode 12 I created SL_PRL that prints tick marks every 10 pips from the current price
This is ShenLong, from ShenLong Lab (シェンロン ラボ).
For first-time visitors, please allow me to introduce myself a little.
As a current trader who continues to generate monthly profits with self-made indicators, I have developed over 1,000 indicators and automation tools to date.
The 12th item of ShenLong Lab
“SL_PRL (Pips RuLer)”
has been released.
This time, I will talk about why I made this item and tips for confirming the distance from the current price in pips on MT4/MT5.
How many pips is that?
Look at the price scale on the far right.
Since the pips units aren’t lined up, I subtract the price in my head.
A trick you can do with standard features
- Draw two horizontal lines and check the price range between them in the data window
- Use the crosshair (press the middle mouse button) to measure the price range between two points
Both are convenient, but every time you measure from the current price, you end up drawing lines or dragging things.
It would be nice if the pips scale could appear from the current price.
Personally, when deciding profit-taking and stop-loss distances, I check how many pips away they are from the current price. SL_PRL was created to reduce that hassle.
From here on, I will introduce how to use SL_PRL in a video.
