【10/20 USD/JPY Scalping Points】
Thank you for your hard work! Alright, let's do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, from today's Tokyo session overview.
Currently USD/JPY is around 158.20. The pair started this morning around 158.50, moved around 158.60 toward the near the base of the Tokyo session, but thereafter trended downward.
Today's Tokyo low was around 158.10 just before 15:00 Japan time, with a Tokyo high around 158.60.
USD/JPY appears likely to hand over to the overseas session with a decline of about 30 pips from the morning level.
Market sentiment seems to lean slightly toward yen buying as expectations grow that the BOJ will continue its rate-hiking path. Since this is a topic favored by overseas players, it might push prices lower a bit more. Tonight's USD/JPY seems to have limited upside.
Now, here are tonight's USD/JPY scalping points (my memo).
● Movements around the London market open near 16:00
● Movements after the US housing starts release at 21:30
● Movements around the New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)
● Movements after the US existing home sales pending release at 23:00
—– Other notes …
・Be mindful of yen depreciation restraint comments from US-Japan governments
・Headlines related to Middle East and crude oil price note

Tonight's “1-minute chart scalping strategy” targets the moves around the London and New York market opens, and the moves after 21:30 “US housing starts” and 23:00 “US existing home sales pending” releases. For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” handling them according to theory should be fine. Tonight's US indicators are not highly anticipated, so a calm session is also within expectations.
Also, if you're aiming for shorts with the “15-minute chart scalping strategy,” wait for a small rebound and be prepared to sell around 158.30–0.40 or lower before chasing downward. With the expectation that the BOJ will continue its rate-hiking path, upside may be heavy.
Also, regarding the latest developments,Recently, Mr. Gogojan kindly visited my office all the way to interview me about “scalping.” I am grateful. I spoke a little, so please take a listen when you have time.

Scalping often seems to have small profit margins and 24-hour opportunities, but that is not the case. By targeting periods with reasonably high volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The times I aim for are near the London market open and near the New York market open.
・London market open time (US daylight saving time 16:00 / US standard time 17:00)
・New York market open time (US daylight saving time 22:00 / US standard time 23:00)
There is also high volatility and many opportunities immediately after U.S. indicators/events are announced. However, in the first few minutes after the release, spreads can widen, so the rule is to enter only after spreads return to normal levels.
Please always check the US indicators/events schedule in advance on brokerage or FX company websites. Knowing when opportunities will come helps you accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning right before U.S. indicators/events. If you go against it, you will be unable to recover. A careless mistake is not acceptable, absolutely not.
The US indicators/events schedule can be checked on each brokerage or FX provider's website.
Of course there are many other points as well, but I have talked about the essential points you should keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.
