Writing an AI-generated product description for EA without including details—how to request three things: materials, restrictions, and composition
Introduction: When you leave it to AI, product descriptions become embellished
I think many people have AI write product descriptions. They can produce something that sounds plausible in a few minutes, which is convenient.
However, if you leave it as is, it usually gets embellished: “stable profits,” “works in any market,” “beginner-friendly.” These apply to any EA and contain no substantiation.
The embellished description comes back after the sale. Buyers read the description to set their expectations, so if the performance doesn't meet those expectations, they will contact you or rate it poorly. Even if you checked the EA with the previous checklist, embellishment in the description will ruin it.
This time, using AI, here is how to write an attractive product description without embellishing. My product page for the inspection tool was also written with this method together with AI.
Why AI embellishes: It’s asked to be “appealing” without materials
A common way of asking is like this.
- “Write this EA product description in an appealing way.”
- “Make it a selling product description.”
What AI typically knows is usually just the EA name and a few words like “trend following,” “EURUSD.” When asked to be “appealing,” AI fills in the missing parts with phrases commonly found on other EA product pages. That’s the essence of “stable,” “high win rate,” “set-and-forget.”
In other words, the embellishment isn’t because AI lies. It’s because you’re asking it to be strong without giving it the facts it should write about. This has the same structure as the first session’s “improve backtests.”
The fix is the same: instead of “write well,” ask “use only these facts and write clearly.”
Template for requests: provide three elements—materials, prohibitions, and structure
There are three things to provide to AI.
- Materials: A list of facts you may write about.Previous checklistIts numbers, and the assumptions for the sales page (testing period, fees, justification for the recommended capital) can be used as-is
- Prohibitions: Do not write things not in the materials. Specify words not to use.
- Structure: What to write and in what order. Include sections for weaknesses and precautions
Here is a ready-to-use request text. Replace the contents in 【】 with your EA details.
Please write the product description for the EA using only the facts I provide. 【Materials】 ・EA mechanism: 【example: trend-following that follows the direction of the 1-hour moving average】 ・Currency pair and timeframe: 【】 ・Backtest period and number of trades: 【】 ・Performance during periods not used for optimization: 【】 ・Tested fees and spreads: 【】 ・Market conditions it excels in, and those it struggles with: 【】 ・Win rate and typical profit per trade (median): 【】 ・Recommended capital and the basis for the drawdown: 【】 【Prohibitions】 ・Do not write numbers or facts that are not in the materials. If lacking, say so at the end in a list: “This information is not available.” ・Do not use the following words: stable, reliable, absolute, holy grail, high win rate, set-and-forget, all market conditions, beginner-friendly, anyone can make money ・Do not promise future performance ・Explain with numbers and conditions, not adjectives 【Structure】 1. What the EA is (2–3 sentences) 2. What markets it moves in and which markets it does not 3. Verification premises (period, number of trades, fees, non-optimized periods) 4. Weaknesses and precautions (periods with losses, recommended capital and justification) 5. Who it is suitable for, and who is not
The key line is “If you lack information, don’t write it—tell me.” Without this, AI will fill blanks with plausible phrases. With this, you’ll know what you haven’t verified yet in a list.
You may worry that making the weaknesses visible will reduce sales. However, a description that mentions weaknesses can make other numbers more credible. It also prevents buyers who are not a good match from buying, reducing the “the story doesn’t match after purchase” issue.
Example: embellished vs. non-embellished description of the same EA
I’ll draft an example using the MT5 sample EA “Moving Average” as if it were to be listed. (In the previous checklist, the conclusion was “not yet listing.” This is only an illustration of the writing method.)
Embellished description (an example of “appealing” without materials)
A unique logic utilizing moving averages captures the major market trend with certainty. Backtests show a Profit Factor of 1.55 and a steadily rising asset curve. The settings are simple, and beginners can run it by just leaving it alone.
PF1.55 is a real figure, but the other statements lack backing. “Capture reliably” and “stable” contradict what we saw in the actual results (in sessions 2 and 3: 7 out of 10, about 88% of profits occurred in the early stage).
Non-embellished description (using actual numbers supplied in the previous section)
What kind of EA is itAn EMA-based trend-following EA for EURUSD on the 1-hour chart. It has small drawdowns and recoups with occasional large wins.
Markets that move and markets that don’tMakes profits in strongly trending markets. In ranging markets, it incurs small losses.
Verification premisesFrom January to September 2026, 193 trades. Win rate 29.5%, average winner +47.39 dollars, average loser −12.81 dollars. Fees were not included in the test. Most profits occurred in the early period.
Weaknesses and precautionsDuring stretches without large wins, the equity slowly declines. The maximum drawdown in backtests was $337, but depending on trade order it could deepen to about $580, so the recommended capital is based on this value.
Who it is suited forPeople who can assess several months at a time, understanding that losses may occur for a period. It is not suitable for those seeking steady monthly profits.
Reading the non-embellished version makes it clear this EA may not be ready for listing yet. It would force statements like “most profits in the early period” and “no fees.” Writing an honest description itself serves as pre-listing verification.
Post-writing verification: Have the same AI search for embellished parts
Even with a carefully crafted request, AI may still add items not present in the materials. So, have the same AI review the produced description as a verifier.Session 1This is the method of turning the same AI into a role that identifies weaknesses.
Please scrutinize the next product description from the buyer’s perspective. - Sentences that include numbers or facts not in the materials - Exaggerated praise without backing numbers (stable, excellent, powerful, etc.) - Sentences that imply possible future performance - Sentences that could raise expectations beyond actual results Extract all such sentences and indicate how to revise them so they reflect only factual information. 【Materials】 (the same as provided) 【Product Description】
Finally, verify two things with your own eyes.
- Match the numbers appearing in the description with the report one by one. AI may round or misstate numbers.
- Consider whether a buyer who reads this description would be satisfied if they lost in the first three months. If not, the weaknesses section is incomplete.
Summary
- AI embellishes because you ask for “appealing” without providing facts
- Provide three elements: materials, prohibitions, and structure. Be sure to include “If information is missing, don’t write it—tell me.”
- After writing, have the same AI search for embellishments, and compare numbers with your own report
- Trying to write an honest description itself becomes pre-listing verification
I describe how I progress with AI in EA development and verification in the continuation, Session 5“Using three AIs for EA verification”written there.
Bonus: How to summarize materials’ numbers
Many numbers for the Materials section come directly from my own inspection tool“EA Robustness Check”When you provide MT5 backtest reports, it compiles the number of trades, medians, early vs late period performance, margin of costs, drawdown order effects, and more into prose. You can use those results directly as AI materials.
For those who want extra assurance, we also offer a verification service.Third-party verification of EA backtest robustness14,800 yen (Skijan). We accept up to three MT5 reports and return a findings report (PDF) within three business days. The criteria are fixed, and results cannot be altered to look better.
Note: This article presents my own approach and does not recommend any particular instrument, method, or EA for buying or selling. Past verification results do not guarantee future performance.
