【Why You Can’t Win with FX】There are things scarier than missing opportunities.
What truly scares me about FX is not missing a chance, but rushing and breaking my own rules.
When the dollar-yen pair is surging, I tend to think so.
“If I buy now, I might make a profit.”
“I don’t want to be late!”
But I have entered in a hurry and failed many times up to now.
So now I am changing my way of thinking.
? A: Ultra-optimistic
“You should actively target opportunities! If the market is moving, there is a possibility to make a profit!”
? B: Ultra-cautious
“Entering in a hurry is dangerous! Entries without basis will reduce your funds!”
? C: Another perspective
“Do you even need to trade every day? You should aim for the moments you are good at!”
✅ The five rules I have set
① Basically, only go long
Because I chased both longs and shorts and experienced a back-and-forth beating.
② Confirm direction on 15-minute and 5-minute charts
Wait for an uptrend with higher highs and higher lows.
③ Look for pullbacks on the 1-minute chart
Just because it’s rising doesn’t mean jump on it.
④ Always set a stop loss
Limit losses and prepare for the next opportunity.
⑤ Even 3–4 opportunities a month are plenty
Value entries you are satisfied with more than trading every day.
? Finally
In the past I felt I was missing profits if I didn’t enter.
But now that’s not the case.
Doing nothing can also be a proper trade.
Rather than winning today, I want to be able to participate in the market tomorrow as well.
From now on, I will prioritize surviving no matter what.
Have you ever regretted missing a chance?
