【10/15 USD/JPY Scalping Points】
Thank you for your hard work! Now, let's do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, the Tokyo time overview for today.
Currently, USD/JPY is around the 158.00 level. It started today around 158.30 in the morning, but during Tokyo time it continued to move with a selling trend as it carried over the momentum from last night’s US CPI release.
The low of the day was around 157.60 just before 11:00 Japan time, after which it slightly retraced.
USD/JPY is expected to hand over to the overseas session with about a 30-pip drop from the morning level.
Last night, the US CPI result beat expectations and briefly boosted the dollar, but there were few aggressive remarks about further rate hikes from Federal Reserve officials, so the dollar buying did not continue.
This evening, there are many US indicators as well, but likely similar moves. If there is volatility, that’s fine.
Now, the points for this evening's USD/JPY scalping (my memo).
● Movements around the London market open
● Movements after the release of the US Initial Jobless Claims, US Retail Sales, US Producer Price Index, US Philadelphia Fed Manufacturing Index, and US NY Fed Manufacturing Index at 21:30
● Movements around the New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)
Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping strategy” targets moves around the London and New York market opens, and after the 21:30 releases of the US indicators. For users of the “1-minute Scalping Club,” if you follow the theory, there should be no problem. US indicators are numerous, so it’s not feasible to check every result. Focus on the chart movements.
Also, if you’re aiming for short positions with the “15-minute scalping strategy,” wait for a little rebound and look to short when the price is around 158.10–158.20 or below. This is a corrective selling ahead of major US data.
As for the latest,Recently, Mr. Gogojan kindly visited my office all the way and interviewed me about “scalping.” I’m grateful. I spoke a little, so please watch it when you have time.

Scalping can appear to have small profit targets around the clock, but that is not always the case. By aiming for periods with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The times I target are around the London market open and the New York market open.
・London market open time (in US daylight time 16:00– / in US standard time 17:00–)
・New York market open time (in US daylight time 22:00– / in US standard time 23:00–)
There is also high volatility and numerous opportunities immediately after US indicators/events are released. However, in the minutes right after the release, spreads may widen, so it is essential to enter only after returns to normal spreads.
Always check the US indicators and event schedules in advance. Knowing the times when opportunities arise helps you efficiently accumulate profits.
Also, avoid positioning right before US indicators/events. If you go against them, the losses can be severe. Careless mistakes are unacceptable, absolutely.
You can check the US indicators and events schedule on the websites of each securities/bx broker.
Of course, there are many other points, but I’ve shared the essential points to keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.
