While I was in the bath with my child, a trade on the US CPI had finished
NewsBurst Real-world Operational Log
While I was bath time with my child,
the US CPI trade had finished. +12 pips
I hadn’t traded for a few days.
The reason is simple.
There were no indicators I wanted to target.
I didn’t think it was necessary to trade forcibly.
I opened the chart,
and I didn’t even look for a place to enter anything.
And then October 14, 2026.
That day I had a target.
Japan time 21:30.
US Consumer Price Index, CPI.
Currency pair USDJPY.
This time it was 1 Lot.
+12.0 pips
+12,000 yen
was the result.
And then, at this 21:30.
I wasn’t in front of the PC.
I was taking a bath with my child.
When I came out of the bath, it was already over
NewsBurst handles entry automatically.
As the indicator time approaches, the EA prepares orders based on pre-set conditions.
This time as well.
Price moves upward on the release.
BUY for USDJPY gets filled.
Entry at 158.675.
Exit at 158.795.
Result is +12.0 pips.
Since it’s 1 Lot, profit was +12,000 yen.
And this time, after opening the position, it ended automatically as well.
Holding time was about 5 minutes.
Reason for end is,
POSITION_TIMEOUT_CLOSE
In other words, this time it did not reach the configured TP to take profit.
After a certain time had passed, NewsBurst’ timeout function closed the position, leaving a +12 pips profit at that moment.
That’s how this trade worked.
When I came out of the bath, the trade had already ended.
This trade wasn’t conceived on the day itself
This is the part NewsBurst wants to emphasize the most.
At 21:30 on October 14,
it wasn’t that I thought, “Let’s trade because CPI is coming.”
The indicators to target are decided beforehand.
I review the week’s plan,
- which indicators to target.
- which currency pairs to use.
- how to set the Lot.
- Entry distance.
- TP.
- SL.
I decide these conditions in advance.
And I load that plan into MT5.
So, on the day, what I do is
not to look for opportunities.
Just wait for the scheduled time to arrive.
It’s okay not trading for a few days
Before this, I hadn’t traded for a few days.
There was no indicator I wanted to trade.
This is also very important to me.
When you’re trading FX,
you open the chart,
you want to hold a position.
Today you haven’t entered at all yet.
That feeling can arise.
But what NewsBurst wants to do isn’t that.
Decide the scenarios you’ll target in advance. If that scenario doesn’t exist, do nothing.
It’s okay not to trade for days.
And,
you choose “I will target here,”
and you fight only at that indicator when it arrives.
This time it was the US CPI.
NewsBurst isn’t an EA that increases trades
Rather, the opposite.
What I want NewsBurst to do is,
reduce the number of trading opportunities.
Don’t target everything.
Don’t trade every day.
Exclude indicators that are hard to move.
Exclude indicators that don’t fit well.
Looking at actual results, keep only what you target.
Trading is 90% about “discarding.”
This time as well, I waited a few days without doing anything, waiting for CPI I was targeting.
I think that’s fine.
You can enter even if you aren’t at the PC at indicator time
This time,
I was bathing my child.
I think this illustrates NewsBurst usage quite well.
Because it’s 21:30, I sit at the PC by 21:25.
Open the chart.
Look at the price.
Prepare the orders.
Wait for the moment of the release.
With NewsBurst, you can at least let EA handle this momentary operation.
Create a plan in advance.
Run the EA.
When time comes, prepare the orders.
If the price moves, it will enter automatically.
If one side fills, handle the unfilled orders on the other side as well.
You can reduce the need to pause your life just to enter.
Bathing with the child.
Spending time with family.
Doing something else.
Such moments and indicators overlap often.
It’s not about complete-immersion abandonment
NewsBurst is not an EA that makes profits with complete inaction.
People decide what to target.
People decide Lot size.
People decide settings.
After a position opens, you can also check on MT5 from your smartphone.
If needed, you can decide to close it yourself.
This time, for example, entry to exit was completed by NewsBurst itself.
But that doesn’t mean it’s best every time.
A human can take profit midway.
If it looks risky, you can exit early.
That’s also a way to use it.
Judgment by humans. Execution by EA.
This time, +12 pips due to timeout, not TP
This result is a little interesting.
The configured TP was 158.875.
Entry was 158.675.
In other words, there was a 20 pips TP above.
However, the actual Exit was 158.795.
TP was not reached.
Before that, the position held time reached the configured time,
ended by POSITION_TIMEOUT_CLOSE.
Result is +12 pips.
This is also material for validation.
I wonder what would have happened if held a bit longer.
Is this timeout duration appropriate?
For CPI, would it be better to extend a bit longer?
Conversely, if there’s a sharp reversal, is about 5 minutes enough?
We’ll continue to collect data and think about these.
Because it won,
I won’t say, “This setting is correct.”
There are spreads and slippage. Still, indicators trading is the target
If you trade on economic indicators,
expect spreads to widen.
Prices may not fill exactly as planned.
This should be assumed as a baseline.
At the moment of indicator release, it’s a different world from normal times.
Price movement becomes extremely fast.
Spreads widen.
Slippage occurs.
There can be discrepancies between order price and actual filled price.
Therefore,
you shouldn’t think, “If I place Entry here, I will surely enter here.”
There are reasons to target indicators despite this.
Because there are moments that move much more than the disadvantages.
We’re aiming for moments that move enough to overcome such disadvantages.
This isn’t about chasing small pips within tight ranges.
Even if spreads and slippage occur, you look for the initial move that overcomes them.
That’s the characteristic of indicator trading.
This US CPI also produced a large initial move right after the release.
Of course, not always this much move occurs every time.
That’s why we need to
- investigate which indicators tend to move a lot.
- which indicators are prone to spread loss.
- what slippage is tolerable.
and accumulate real-world data like this.
Not to avoid spreads, but to aim for moves that exceed them.
What we want to verify with NewsBurst are such indicators.
1 Lot, 12,000 yen. But that’s not the main point
This result is,
USDJPY.
BUY.
1 Lot.
Entry 158.675.
Exit 158.795.
+12.0 pips.
+12,000 yen.
Because it’s 1 Lot, the profit is larger than 0.1 Lot.
However, of course, the loss would also be larger if you lose.
This doesn’t mean that 1 Lot is good just because we gained 12,000 yen this time. You need to decide Lot size based on capital and acceptable risk.
What I want you to see this time is,
not that 1 Lot yielded 12,000 yen, but that NewsBurst moved as planned for US CPI.
That is the point.
“Days with no trading” are also part of trading
What I want to emphasize most in this article might be here.
A few days passed without trading.
Then on October 14, I traded only CPI that I had targeted.
This is fine.
Don’t hold unnecessary positions.
Don’t enter just because you’re bored.
Don’t trade because you’re free time.
Decide the scene you will fight in advance and wait for it.
Then, just leave the order processing at that moment to the EA.
It’s not about increasing the number of trades, but about reducing unnecessary trades.

I’m not just collecting success stories like this time.
Indicators that didn’t move.
Indicators with large slippage.
Cases where timeout happened too early.
Cases where escaping early saved you.
Cases where TP setting didn’t fit.
I want to collect these together.
Which indicators to keep.
Which to discard.
Under what conditions to target.
I’d like to think about these together.
In conclusion
October 14, 2026.
Japan time 21:30.
US CPI.
USDJPY BUY.
1 Lot.
+12.0 pips.
+12,000 yen.
Holding time about 5 minutes.
This time, entry to exit was completed automatically.
During that time, I was bathing my child.
But,
“I earned by leaving it alone”
is not the story here.
I had decided to target this indicator several days earlier.
I had set the conditions.
I had prepared the Plan.
And I delegated only the moments that humans don’t need to handle to NewsBurst.
Not necessary to trade for several days.
Only decide the moments to target.
Only delegate to the EA when needed.
NewsBurst is a tool for trading in that way.

NewsBurst does not guarantee profits.
FX trading involves risk including loss of principal.
At the time of economic indicator releases, spreads may widen, slippage may occur, executions may differ from expected prices, orders may be rejected, and rapid reversals may occur.
Even using EA or programs may incur losses.
