【10/13 USD/JPY Scalping Points】
Good work today! Now let's go with USD/JPY scalping tonight as well!
First, the overview of Tokyo time for today.
Currently the USD/JPY is around 158.35. This morning it started around 158.60, but during Tokyo time it trended slightly bearish on the dollar, falling to around 158.20 before 12:00 JST.
All gains from the overseas session yesterday were erased, resulting in a “head and shoulders” like move. It seems that once it exceeds 158.50, there is a strong sense of caution toward warnings from the U.S. and Japanese governments.
Whether it tries again depends on the European and London buyers later, but ahead of tomorrow’s U.S. CPI, volume seems likely to stay heavy today.
The USD/JPY is likely to hand over to the overseas session with about a 25-pip drop from the morning level.
Now, here are tonight’s USD/JPY scalping points (my personal notes).
● Movements near 16:00 London market open
● Movements near 22:00 New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)

Other notes…
・At 16:45, remarks by Fed Governor Lael Brainard
・Be careful of warnings from the U.S. and Japanese governments about yen weakness
・Headlines related to Middle East and oil price should be watched

Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping strategy” targets markets with no highly anticipated U.S. data or events, and will be decided around the London and New York market opens. For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” following the theory should pose no problem. With possible reduced volatility awaiting tomorrow’s U.S. CPI, avoid unnecessary positions.
Also, if you’re aiming for the 15-minute scalping strategy to go short, wait for a slight pullback and look to sell around 158.40–158.50 or lower, then chase downward. The upside seems heavy due to lack of catalysts.
As for recent updates,Earlier, Mr. GOGO JUMBLE kindly visited my office from afar and I was interviewed about “scalping.” I’m grateful. I spoke a little, so please take a look when you have time.

Because scalping profits per trade are small, it may seem there are 24-hour opportunities, but that is not the case. Targeting periods with relatively high volatility can drastically reduce trading difficulty.
The time periods I target are near the London Open and near the New York Open.
・London market open time (16:00 US daylight time / 17:00 US standard time)
・New York market open time (22:00 US daylight time / 23:00 US standard time)
Volatility and opportunities increase immediately after U.S. data releases or events. However, in the minutes right after the release, spreads can widen, so always re-enter only after spreads return to normal.
Always check the U.S. data/event schedule in advance. Knowing when opportunities come allows you to build profits efficiently.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning just before U.S. data/events. If you move against it, your losses can be severe. Careless mistakes are not acceptable.
You can check the U.S. data/event schedules on each brokerage or FX provider’s website.
Of course there are many other points besides the three above, but I’ve discussed the essential points to keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.
