Reason for not embellishing the record of victory: write facts and interpretations in a separate section
After securing profits and writing the record, the reason before entry was originally one line, but it has grown to five lines. Are you happily adding to it and leaving it as is?
The four added lines are things that the before-entry self could not see.
In the successful round, how should I write the record so it can be used for the next time?
Good evening!
This is Masashi ^^
This time, it’s about a way of writing that separates facts from interpretations to avoid adding post hoc reasons even for the winning rounds.
The reason for the winning round should remain only what was written before entry.
? The reason was one line before, but became five lines after profit
A while ago, I was writing records like this at night.
The reason written before entry is just this one line.
【Just before the higher-timeframe resistance, the lower timeframe stopped twice】
After taking profit, another line appeared in the same section like this.
【Could ride the trend】
【The day was strong for buying】
【As expected】
【Lotto size was just right】
None of these are lies.
However, when I recall the screen before entering, I don’t remember confirming these four lines even once (;'∀')
? Where did the four added lines come from?
The answer is simple: they come from the results as they appeared.
When you look at a chart that ends in profit, you can find any number of reasons for the rise.
“Could ride the trend” is something you can say only after you went up.
“The buying day was strong” was something you could only know after the day ended.
In other words, all four lines are impressions of the outcome, not judgments made before entry.
If you write impressions in the reason column, when you read it later, you will think you entered because you saw that, even if you didn’t.
? Words written after knowing the result do not count as reasons before entry, no matter how accurate.
⚠ Exaggerated wins make it impossible to explain the next loss
The trouble is with days when you lose in the same way.
In the winning record, there are five reasons lined up.
When looking back at a losing day, you start to search which of the five was missing.
Was it the flow, or the strength, or the read? Any of them can be explained, so there’s no fixed place to correct.
Then from the next round, you want to add one condition at a time.
Originally one line for the reason, but in the records, suddenly it appears with five conditions.
Additions to the winning round should obscure where to adjust on the losing day.
? Separate the facts column from the interpretation column
So, I’ll divide the record into sections.
In the facts column, write only what was on the screen.
Example of facts: 【Just before the high price where I was stopped earlier, it bounced down twice】
In the interpretation column, write what you thought about it.
Example of interpretation: 【I thought it looked like it would be bought lower down】
Facts are the same for anyone who looks later.
Interpretations depend on that moment’s thinking and can be wrong.
If you keep them separate, when something goes wrong, you can see which part was off!
✅ How to use the winning round record
Write in two phases: before entry and after it’s finished.
・Before entry, briefly write facts and interpretations
・After it’s over, in the results column, write only the settlement price and the reason
・Anything noticed later should go in a separate section
The point is not to add a single character to the two lines written before entry.
The more you win, the more you want to add words here.
If you want to add words, don’t delete them; move them to a separate column.
A column name like “Things noticed later” is enough.
? The key is the time you wrote that line
When you reread the records, what you should look at first is the timestamp rather than the content.
That line may have been written before entry or after the fact.
Only the lines written before entry reflect what you actually saw at that time.
Lines written after the fact, no matter how sharp, are words of someone who already knows the outcome.
So I prepend with 【Before】【After】 at the start of the line.
When lined up, you can immediately tell if the lines with 【After】 have slipped into the reasons column.
When rereading, first look at the time of writing before content.
? What you notice later does not have to be discarded
By now you might think that you shouldn’t write things you realize later.
But that’s not quite right.
The realization that you could ride the flow can be useful, depending on how you use it.
However, it’s not a reason for the winning moment this time; it’s a candidate to verify next time.
In the next round, can you truly verify that flow on the screen before entering?
If you can verify it, that’s when it goes into the facts column.
? Things noticed later are candidates for the next time. They cannot go into this round’s reason.
? Do not make GOLD a universal cure for winning reasons
GOLD is a tool for verifying where to look, the reason to wait, and where to stop,
to check in the same order each time.
However, if used incorrectly, it becomes a dictionary for finding reasons after a win.
If you flip through the material after ending with profit, you’ll find explanations that fit that win in plenty of ways.
Open the material when you are about to write the two lines before entry.
If you open after finishing, you’ll fatten the interpretations column rather than the facts column.
The tool does not replace judgment, so the effort of writing two lines and not adding later remains with you.
For those who want a clean explanation of the winning reasons, this material may not be suitable.
? Summary: Do not add when you win
The winning round record makes you want to add words with a sense of satisfaction.
But many of those words come from how the outcome looked.
What I want you to take away this time are three things.
・Write facts and interpretations in separate sections
・Do not add later to the two lines written before entry
・Put later realizations into a separate section for the next time
If you keep the winning round unexaggerated, you can compare in one line what was different on a day you lost in the same shape.
Whether you continue this separation yourself or organize it from the pre-entry view using GOLD is up to you.
Next winning night, before you add to the reason column, please first confirm only the head of the line with 【Before】【After】^^
Thank you always for reading ^^
