【10/8 USDJPY Scalp Points】
Good work everyone! Alright, let's do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, the overview of Tokyo time for today.
Currently USD/JPY is around 158.20. The pair started today around 158.05 in the morning, but during Tokyo time it continued the overseas session trend from last night, and before 10:00 Japan time it slid to around 157.60 (today's Tokyo low).
However, from this level buyers stepped in, and with the stop-losses of those who were lured into selling, it moved in a “hit and run” fashion, showing volatility but no clear direction, which seems to be continuing. Well, volatility is welcome though.
USD/JPY is likely to hand over to overseas session at roughly the morning levels.
Speaking of which, yesterday’s FOMC minutes offered few clues.
Now, here are tonight’s USD/JPY scalping points (my personal notes).
● Movements around the 16:00 London market open
● Movements after the 21:30 release of the “U.S. Initial Jobless Claims”
● Movements around the 22:00 New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)

Other notes…
・There is a 23:40 speech by the President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, Neel Kashkari
・Be cautious of comments from U.S. and Japanese governments that might influence the yen
・Be cautious of headlines related to the Strait of Hormuz

Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping strategy” targets the moves around the London and New York market opens, and the moves after the 21:30 release of the “U.S. Initial Jobless Claims.” For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” if you handle it according to the theory, there should be no problem. Tonight’s U.S. indicators aren’t highly anticipated, so calm conditions are also expected.
Also, if you’re aiming for short positions with the “15-minute chart scalping strategy,” wait for a slight pullback and look to sell around 158.30–40 or lower, then chase downward. It’s a range with volatility, so it should be manageable.
As for recent updates,Recently, Mr. Gogojan visited my office from afar and interviewed me about “scalping.” I’m grateful. I spoke a little, so please take a look when you have time.

Scalping has the narrow profit margins you’re aiming for, so it’s easy to think there are 24-hour opportunities, but that’s not the case. By targeting periods with higher volatility to trade, you can dramatically reduce the difficulty of trading.
The time periods I target are around the London open and around the New York open.
・London market open times (UTC: 16:00 in US daylight time / 17:00 in US standard time)
・New York market open times (UTC: 22:00 in US daylight time / 23:00 in US standard time)
There are many opportunities when U.S. indicators and events are released, as volatility increases right after releases. However, in the minutes immediately after the release, spreads can widen, so the rule is to enter only after they return to the usual spread.
Always check the U.S. indicators and events schedule in advance on broker or FX vendor websites. Knowing when opportunities come allows you to efficiently accumulate profits.
Also, never position right before U.S. indicators/events are released. If you go against them, you’ll be in trouble. You can be knocked to the stop-loss in an instant. Careless mistakes are unacceptable, absolutely.
The U.S. indicators and events schedule can be checked on each brokerage or FX provider’s website.
Of course, besides the three points above, there are other aspects as well, but I’ve explained the minimum points you should keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.
