[October 7 GOLD] $42 drop that negates yesterday's rebound. Three trade strategies chosen within the daily chart's lower price band
On October 7, 2026, GOLD fell about $42 from $4,165.69 to $4,123.69 between 9:00 and 18:00.
Yesterday rebounded from the lows and rose into the evening, but today every attempt to rebound is capped higher, and the low has been updated just before 18:00.
From the price action up to 18:00, the first scenario is,to wait for a rebound and then sell on the way back down. However, on the daily chart, after the sharp drop there has been consolidation, and the price is approaching its lower bound. There are large differences in potential loss-cut distances and profit targets between selling near the lows and waiting for a rebound to sell.
Prices are in U.S. dollars, and the intraday times are in Japan Standard Time.
On the daily chart, the rebound after the sharp drop has not continued, and the price is testing lower levels again.
The daily candlestick on September 28 fell from $4,276.07 to $4,115.11, about $161. The following day, September 29, rebounded to $4,181.73, but the uptrend did not continue thereafter.
On September 30, it rose to $4,219.20 and then declined. On October 2, it touched $4,226.19, with a close at $4,142.56. The rebound after the steep drop has been capped around $4,220.
Yesterday, October 6, the daily chart shows a bullish candle that fell to $4,103.41 and then bounced to $4,164.27. However, today, relative to the daily open of $4,164.02, the 18:00 value is $4,123.69. Although not yet confirmed, it has pushed back the body of yesterday's bullish candle entirely.
The current daily chart is,in a holding pattern around the $4,103–$4,226 area and moving back toward the downside. In the short term it is bearish, but it has not clearly broken below the daily lower bound.
What differs from yesterday is the durability of the rebound rather than the price range.
| 9:00–18:00 comparison | Yesterday, October 6 | Today, October 7 |
|---|---|---|
| Price at 9:00 | $4,133.99 | $4,165.69 |
| High | $4,155.47 | $4,169.54 |
| Low | $4,103.41 | $4,122.52 |
| Price just before 18:00 | $4,155.33 | $4,123.69 |
| Change from 9:00 | +$21.34 | −$42.00 |
Yesterday, the price hit a low in the morning and reversed in the afternoon. Today, it hit a high in the morning and updated the low in the evening.
Today's rebound high was $4,162.52 and $4,154.77 in the morning, easing to around $4,148–$4,149 before noon. In the afternoon it rose again to $4,139.31 around 16:30, but could not sustain the rebound and fell to $4,122.52 just before 18:00.
Therefore, for considering a long, evidence that this decline structure is breaking is required first.
To organize the strategy, here is a summary of price-band roles.
| Price band | Strategic role |
|---|---|
| $4,130–$4,139 | Initial band to consider selling on rebounds |
| $4,148–$4,155 | Next resistance band if a short-term rebound proceeds |
| $4,169–$4,185 | Band containing today’s intraday high and yesterday’s daily high |
| $4,219–$4,226 | Upper bound of the daily rebound |
| $4,120–$4,123 | Band to judge near-term breakdown or failed breakdown |
| $4,113–$4,117 | Next profit-taking candidate if decline continues |
| $4,100–$4,111 | Daily lower band. A location to watch for both selling profits and rebounds |
Liquidity candidates lie outside these highs and lows. These are based on price structure, not actual order book balances.
The following is a conditional strategy plan based on data through 18:00. Win rate and payoff ratio are not verified, and specific prices are design examples rather than executed results.
From here, I will explain in detail entry conditions, stop losses, take-profit targets, and scenarios to pass on for rebounds, breakdowns after breakdowns, and breakdown failures, with continuation available after reader registration.
