[10/7 Dollar-Yen Scalping Points]
Good work everyone! Alright, let's go with dollar-yen scalping again tonight!
First, from today’s Tokyo time overview.
Currently, dollar-yen is around 158.35. This morning, it started around 158.15, but during Tokyo time, on the backdrop of the US-Japan rate differentials and rising crude oil prices, it moved with a mild dollar-buying tendency.
Today's Tokyo high was around 158.50 just after 10:00 Japan time. Still, as it approached the mid-158 to the 159 range, there seemed to be strong cautions from both governments about yen weakness and possible FX interventions, so the moves did not push higher.
After this, European and London participants will come in, but the mood is not to buy higher...
Dollar-yen looks set to transfer to overseas sessions with about a 20-pip rise from the morning level.
Now, here are tonight’s dollar-yen scalping points (my personal notes).
● Movements around 16:00 London market open
● Movements around 22:00 New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)
● Movements after 27:00 when the FOMC minutes are released

Other notes..
・Be mindful of yen-weakness caution statements from US-Japan governments
・Be vigilant for headlines related to the Strait of Hormuz

Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping strategy” targets moves around the London and New York market openings and the post-27:00 FOMC minutes movement. For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” I think following the theory should pose no problem. It’s always tough with FOMC-related events, but let’s do our best!
Also, if you’re aiming for shorts with the 15-minute scalping strategy, wait for a small pullback and look to sell around 158.50–158.60 or lower, then short down. A position adjustment before the FOMC.
Thanks again for tonight!
Also,Gogojungle kindly visited my office from afar and interviewed me about “scalping.” I’m honored. I spoke a little, so please have a listen when you have time.

Because scalping targets small profit margins, it’s easy to think there are chances 24 hours a day, but that’s not the case. By targeting periods with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The time periods I target are around the London market open and the New York market open.
• London market open time (USD summer time 16:00 / USD winter time 17:00)
• New York market open time (USD summer time 22:00 / USD winter time 23:00)
Even immediately after US indicators or events, volatility rises and more opportunities appear. However, in the minutes right after the release, spreads may widen, so the rule is to enter only after they return to normal spreads.
Always check the US indicators and events schedule in advance. Knowing when chances will come helps you accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning right before US indicators or events. If you go against the trend, it can be disastrous. You can be taken to the stop-loss in an instant. Careless mistakes are not acceptable, absolutely not.
US indicators and events schedules can be checked on the websites of each brokerage or FX provider.
Of course, there are many other points as well, but I’ve discussed the essential points you should at least keep in mind when scalping dollar-yen.
