The Burden of “Performance Lag” Faced by Traders Worldwide
While browsing the MT5 developer community known as the “MQL5 Forum,” one thread caught my eye
“Just adding a few indicators makes the chart sluggish…”
“The screen stutters momentarily at order timing, causing stress.”
“Isn’t there a simpler, lighter tool?”
Regardless of language or country, traders around the world were grappling with the exact same problem.
Feature-rich, highly precise indicators may seem appealing at first glance.
However, no matter how excellent the tool is,
if display and operation become heavy and hinder chart analysis or entries, that defeats the purpose.
Shift in thinking: think in terms of subtraction, not addition
In typical tool development, it’s common to think, “let’s add more features,” “let’s display this too,” addition.
However, the biggest culprit for heavy performance is over-functionality and unnecessary rendering.
Thus, my aim was a thorough aesthetics of subtraction.
Cut out as much as possible the wasteful code that causes flicker and load
Smartly display only the information necessary for trading decisions
Not a simple conversion from MT4 code, but a complete rebuild from scratch tailored for MQL5
In fact, this is a common design philosophy that runs through the main environment tool series, the “Trade_Toolbox.” Since we rebuild from scratch to fit MQL5 specifications rather than reusing old programs (unrealistic conversions), we achieve a precise, smart, and lean behavior.
